When I was in grad school and Cornell lost 1/3rd of their endowment to Madoff and the subprime meltdown, I thought that the university should've lost their nonprofit status. Active faculty needs to run the university leadership. No non-faculty boards, admin has to be broken and reined in.

This is, however terrible, the lesson of the Trump administration for the rest of the world. Americans promises are worthless. We lack integrity and honor. We're small, weak, and violent as nation in international affairs. Our giant military is compensation for our smallness and lack of integrity.
The Trump administration effectively says that no one should ever work with Americans during wartime; that our promises mean nothing, our word is dust, and we will throw our allies under the bus the moment we want.
