Good opening salvo from the Warriors. Jimmy 16-16 at the free throw line. Steph had the requisite help he needed but had his usual chaotic effect on offense. JK with 17 points but what moved me was the 9 boards and 6 assists. Dubs defense was mostly on point tonight.
JK offensive board. Steph moonshot from the crypto logo.

That might do it!
This is why Steph Curry as a screener is such a cheat code. I mean look at two defenders completely ignore Jimmy (with the ball!) and stick to Steph lmaoooo
One hell of an upfake by Jimmy Buckets
NIcely drawn ATO for Steph to come off the middle zoom action. Al's dive draws the tag, Richard available for the baseline drift, drills the three.
Dubs go to their "Small" action (inverted PnR) for JK with Steph setting the screen to force the Vincent switch. JK drives, draws the low man help from Ayton, and finds Al in the dunker spot for the bucket.
WE'RE AT THIS POINT OF THE BUDDY HIELD CYCLE
Dubs are PERFECTLY fine with helping off of Vando, sending two to the ball toward Luka, and letting Vando make the decisions in the short roll, which Draymond easily bats away.
Podz calls out "Elbow" which a short corner pin for JK to get the Luka matchup. JK takes Luka in the paint and drills the floater.
37-years old and still parting the proverbial Red Sea
JONATHAN KUMINGA YOU ARE MOVING ME
Classic top-lock counter by Steph down the baseline and Draymond connects with him.
Warriors defense is LOCKED IN. Covering every base, controlled closeouts, not letting themselves be disadvantaged in the blender. Capped by JK crowding Ayton's space without fouling to force the miss.
Look at JK man. Slows things down, passes out to Draymond, sets the screen for Steph and slips it for the finish.
Warriors at the half @ LAL

ORTG: 101.9
DRTG: 98.2

A defensive battle so far. A combined 27 turnovers between the Dubs and Lakers. Jimmy Butler and Steph Curry shouldering the scoring load with 17 and 14 points, respectively.
ATO for Steph to come to set the RIP screen and then come off of Horford. He gets a cleared side to juke Smart and slip backdoor for the easy layup.
JK locks Luka down, then finds Steph trailing in transition. Good minutes from JK.
Peep at this defensive adjustment to Luka screening to coax the Steph switch.

Once Steph switches onto Luka, Draymond immediately comes over to bump Steph off on the scram switch. Luka keeps trying to get Steph to switch but Steph hedges. He contests a Rui shot to force the miss.
Inverted PnR for Draymond set by Podz. Look at where Podz sets the screen: at the nail, turning it into a "snug" screen. Takes advantage of the sag off that Draymond receives. Gets a clear lane for a dunk.

Liking the ball pressure + activity on the tandem 2-3 zone here by the Dubs. Will Richard is flying around, Al anchoring the backline of the zone. Lakers have had no tangible solution so far to it.
