And while I like Dark Souls 2 more than most, its soundtrack is a good few notches above the game itself.
Recent example but Borderlands 4, best since 2 imo but the tracks are incessantly repetitive and feel like generic trailer backing. Really lost the feel of the series with its score.
I love this idea that websites are rooting for Xbox's downfall by reporting on negative news. I would much rather PlayStation have a competitor but all there is is bad Xbox news these days.
Very funny that people immediately clocked Earth-X in Peacemaker. Almost like it's an all white, all straight world that feels forced, not diversity.

People: There's a horrible lack of mentorship in this industry.

Also people: Reach out? Nah, I'm just here for the pile-on.
seriously, one of my first interactions with the wider games media space when I started in 2019 was being dogpiled and only learning about it after finding I had Slack DMs asking if I was alright; five years later and it hasn't gotten any better
games media go one week without dogpiling someone
An inexperienced writer makes a mistake, gets dogpiled, and people wonder why the industry has such a quick turnover rate.
Dark Souls is among the best of them at that.

Been a treat to work with Joe all these years and I've learned a lot about the industry and MTG through him, when he isn't hurling insults at me for my awful Doctor Who opinions. Gonna miss working together 🖤
Bit of personal news: after four years, I've been let go from @thegamerweb.bsky.social and am a free agent!

If you need someone with half a decade of TCG and tabletop and over a decade of video game coverage experience, please get in touch at [email protected]!

YOU CAN HAVE MY EM DASHES WHEN YOU PRY MY PEN FROM MY COLD DEAD FINGERS
That's how you can tell human authors from AI.

AI will put in some em dashes, then apologise and take them out when told off.

Human authors will climb the filing cabinet, hissing, and defend their right to em dashes with a loaded stapler.
Em dashes, like anything, should be used in moderation. Check first with your editor if em dashes are right for you. 😉

the utter disdain that I see for non US-based games media folks with worse pay and fewer opportunities is disgusting. how we will build solidarity by jumping to conclusions and assuming the worst?

I've worked with Josh before when I was at TG, and he's a damn good news editor, so I can tell you for free that he'd definately rather be doing something else with his days than being told to write sponcon.

Genuinely no need to include his byline in story, do not care for this kind of dogpiling.

Very funny to call people scabs for writing for a site in an industry where it's harder and harder to get actual work while also being out of work yourself, ngl
It isn't, but they're front and centre on images being passed around and backlinked to. Nobody asks to write this stuff.
Really cool in an industry already plagued by dogpiling and constant harassment for other journos to highlight, link, and name people just trying to get by in this soul crushing landscape.

I'm sure this will make a positive impact.
Oops think I deleted the thanks but it's still meant haha

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is a spectacularly bizarre sequel.

While its narrative is awkwardly fragmented and its characters aren't as well developed as you'd like, this doesn't take away from the melancholic joy of making deliveries across a broken world. #DeathStranding2
I sat down with a few prominent LGBTQ+ champions from The Elder Scrolls Online, from the march organisers to an ESO Stream Team member and top donor for this year's events, to discuss why Pride matters, especially against the challenges they face this year.
