Does anyone have advice on how to eat when stress has turned your stomach into a knot? This has been a hard week.

Warframe really decided that we’d focused too much on the PTSD of the eternally re-executed ALICE IN AWFULLAND captive and were forgetting about the PTSD of the eternal child soldier, huh

A good example of why direct inflation adjustment of this sort is more deceptive than clarifying when applied over very long stretches of time where consumption patterns are very different.

Basic foods (bread/grain) probably devours a third of Cratchet's income, but not the modern worker's.

This is a dangerously broad and generalizing statement and thus perilous to make as a historian, but a good rule of thumb is to disbelieve anyone saying “people in the past had it better” in almost any regard other than very specific things like “worries about nuclear war.”

It's disgraceful that the leader image of this POPULAR MECHANICS article is LLM slop, and it's even more disgraceful that it's not mentioned anywhere on the page. The only way you can know is by having an eye for it or noticing that the alt text is very obviously a prompt.
Divers Found a Lost Shipwreck So Remarkably Preserved, They Couldn’t Believe Its Age
The two-masted schooner was fully intact—a rarity in Great Lakes shipwreck finds.

When you say "[bad thing] is happening to women and nonbinary people" you almost certainly mean "women and trans people". Unless binary trans men are suddenly immune to abuse, underemployment & wage gaps, being hounded out of public life...

What were your favourite reads/pieces of media this year that ft transmasculinity??
solomonskalozub.blogspot.com/2025/12/tran... I threw this together as an easier reference for people looking for *something* featuring transmasculinity. I will eventually get back to doing essays for each individual media I mention here, but I felt this may aid people in finding the story they need!

A huge amount of Americans are vaguely uncomfortable with trans girls in schools but don't care that much, and the solution to them is to just go "What, should we require kids all have their junk examined?" and they'll be like "Oh wow, don't like that" and give up they don't really care
Many people are saying.

The entire trans panic is an elite affectation that violently and deliberately misreads the willingness of the general public to go along with it.

One of my better posts.
There’s a series about Electric Blue Angels—name escapes me—that’s very much masturbatory navel gazing for London. And I liked it! I could like masturbatory navel gazing for NYC. I just need to be able to appreciate the object of the author’s onanistic omphaloskepsis!

Went and looked at my immunization schedule and honestly it’s kind of a surprise I’m not dead by now.

I can count the number of flu shots I’ve had in my life on two hands and still have a pinky to get myself a fatal respiratory infection with left over. And my last TDAP booster was in 2008.

Allowing The Princess Bride means it remains easy mode.

Has *anyone* watched that so few times?
Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar.

Trauma surgeons report no active bleeding. No surgery recommended. due to his precarious condition. Vitals have mostly stabilized. Doctor says he’s slightly better than yesterday and we should be cautiously optimistic. If all goes well the ENT will insert a feeding tube tomorrow.

⚓️
He’s stabilized, albeit via intubation and heavy sedation. I got to see him before and after. He was aware enough before to recognize me and talk a little. Some confusion on his part, high difficulty speaking. I said what needed saying.

It can never be enough, but if that was the end, it’s enough.⚓️
Dad's vitals started crashing this evening. He's back in ICU. Internal bleeding from something, possibly sepsis. Oxygen and blood pressure are very bad, though the latter was recovering slightly last I heard. Mom is there at the hospital--only one person can be there at a time.

Prayers appreciated⚓

Vitals started improving a bit last night, but they still can’t stabilize him. Leaving in an hour to possibly say goodbye.

I want SNW in the post-DISCOVERY setting. That's all. Exploration, difficult choices, boldly going.
