me: good night. sweet dreams. love you.

goofball: i have a question.

me: ok. make it quick.

goofball: what does “overthrowing the status quo” mean?

- Land back
- Abolish the military, police, & entire carceral justice system
- Universal access to every basic human need for every human, without exception
- Immediate ban on AI until/unless it can exist without inherent ethical or environmental harm
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Panera’s moderately caffeinated lemonade was loosely associated with 2 deaths before it was taken off market.

This article alone has 4 examples of ChatGPT encouraging young people to commit suicide, and OpenAI’s own public stats estimate over a million users discuss suicide with ChatGPT each week.

I wish I could semi-mute accounts. Just turn the dial down a wee bit, y’know? Not all the way but like, maybe I only need to see every *third* thing you repost.

study after study after study shows that literally just handing people money and telling them "do what you want with this" reduces homelessness, increases food security for children, makes it more likely people will find and retain jobs.1

When a chatbot gets something wrong, it’s not because it made an error. It’s because on that roll of the dice, it happened to string together a group of words that, when read by a human, represents something false. But it was working entirely as designed. It was supposed to make a sentence & it did.

I don't think we understand just how bad the decline of the Internet is to knowledge.

3 years ago, I could perform a very basic search in any engine and get an absurd number of relevant links, research articles, etc.

Today, I can perform the same search and find absolutely nothing.

There should be asset ceilings to run for and hold any political office and the salary should decrease by 20% every year you’re in office.

Today is very much an “I wish to run away into the woods and never be heard from again” day, so naturally I’m avoiding all my responsibilities and knitting in bed (at least until daycare pickup).

I feel the increasing urge to travel back in time to grade 10 English class, slap baby Jane across the face as they’re rolling their eyes at the special unit on media literacy they had to endure and yell at them this is in fact the single most important thing they’ll ever learn in public education.

Someone should put the sun further away
URGENT SOS - I have flown too close to the sun (ate too many nerds gummy clusters) and have tumbled down to earth, where I now lay incapacitated, awaiting aid (my tummy hurts and I need someone to come gently pet my forehead until I feel better)

Freelance illustration gigs drying up. Ad agencies using Midjourney instead of hiring human artists. Costume design turned over to AI wholesale. Good work vanishing.

These are the stories of working visual artists, who describe losing jobs, wages, and hope as their clients and bosses embrace AI.

Visual artists, illustrators and graphic designers share their stories about how AI is being used to lower wages, degrade work and even replace it altogether, in this installment of AI Killed My Job.

Continuing with my therapy evangelism to say DO THAT SHIT. If not going to therapy is a choice for you (rather than it just not being accessible), then do iiiiitttttt. Literally every person in your life benefits from making the choice to work on yourself.
