there have been a lot of responses to this arguing that young Republicans were motivated by such feelings but didn't express them openly

and I think a crucial lesson of the Trump era is that there is great value in people not expressing these things openly! that's a big and decisive change!

NC governor can’t veto a redistricting map. Here’s the unlikely person to blame. Then Sen. The blue hairs used to be all Republicans too. Back in the day older ladies had their hair done at the salon each week. The "blue shampoo" kept the gray from looking yellow. It's still in use but doesn't turn hair blue.

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.
