To all who find this page, hello!

I’m an aspiring independently trained artist and writer. Mainly I draw paleoart (dinosaurs and such), but also kaiju, some specevo stuff, cartoon and retro anime/manga fan art, and general sci-fi & fantasy stuff. Feel free to follow me if any of that interests you.

Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age — Season 3 First Look | Apple TV+
YouTube video by Apple TV

I’m quite liking what I see here. The American mastodons, Arctodus and those little reptiles(?) look great. Only designs I’m iffy on are the Nanuqsaurus. Their arms look pronated and the head seems too allosaur-like.

Hope a trailer drops soon so we can get a better look at them.

Here's a T. Rex bored to death trying to bite their own tail. My partner asked me to animate it in stop motion, after she watched a video about the very important topic of "could T. Rex chew its own tail like a dog". The puppet is still a work in progress 🦖

Finally, a Thursday morning actually worth getting excited about.
YouTube thumbnails for a preview clip of the upcoming paleodoc mini-series Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age and a recently released French 2D animated short film featuring a white Yutyrannus called "Tears of The Mountain".
Absolutely grateful I grew up in a time before ChatGPT was ever a thing. At least whenever I messed up in school, I did it on my own with no AI to use as a crutch lol

It's past time to be loudly opposing the ongoing attack on the education system and boycotting gen AI and the billionaire losers betting our country's economy and resources on this slop. But if you haven't yet, today is a good day to start
Headline 1 (NPR): "What parents should know about PragerU Kids videos, ehich can now be shown in Florida schools"
Headline 1 Text: "Some videos downplay slavery, question whether humans really cause climate change, and insert opinions into what otherwise appears to be educational content for children."

Headline 2 (MSNBC): "Propaganda platform PragerU is primed to capitalize on Trump's PBS cuts"
Headline 2 text: "The right-wing media outlet has been portrayed as an alternative to PBS children's programs - and it has gotten a boost from the white house." Headline 3 (NPR): "'Founders Museum' from White House and PragerU blurs history,
Al-generated fiction"

Headline 4 (CNN): "Exclusive: Oklahoma to begin controversial test to weed out "woke' teacher applicants today"
Headline 4 text: "Teachers from "liberal" states who have relocated to Oklahoma and are seeking to work there must take a controversial new
assessment, to be given for the first time today, that "keeps away woke indoctrinators," according to Oklahoma's top education official.
The decision to use the assessment, developed by PragerU, a conservative media company whose teaching materials are now approved for use in public schools in ten US states, opens a" (text cuts off) Post from More Perfect Union @MorePerfectUS which reads: "NetChoice, a tech industry association that represents Amazon, Google, Meta and more wants to increase Al use in schools.
They're promoting Louisiana as an example of "Al education done right."

Re: every headline involving education
A 4 panel comic.

Panel 1: closeup of a new textbook on a kid's school desk. The cover reads "World Histeries - sponcored bye PragerU + OpenAI"

Panel 2: The kid opens the book. Page titles include "How slavery boosted the enconemy" and "12 reasons hitler wasn't wrong" along with an ad that reads "more with a pragerU subscription and another that says "10% off openAI" with a QR code.

Panel 3: the kid looks up at the teacher, lifts the book, and says "what the fuck is this"

Panel 4: an exhausted teacher, still passing out a stack of the books, replies "your senator picked it"
RIP to Drew Struzan, an absolutely legendary artist.

He made some of my all-time favorite film posters, including the one for John Carpenter’s The Thing. Also genuinely love this one painting he did based on TLWJP. He and Noriyoshi Ohrai set the gold standard for film posters imo.

Scene of a herd of toratons, giant 120-ton descendants of the tortoise from the 2002 documentary series The Future Is Wild, foraging and wading in a lush, green swamp 100 million years in the future.

The scene itself is a reference to a famous painting depicting the sauropod dinosaur Brontosaurus made by Charles R. Knight in 1897.

Charles Knight's Raboon Vs. Rundihorn (circa. 50 Million Years Hence).

#paleoart #homage #speczoo #specevo #scifiart #AfterMan
Panoramic scene of two creatures from Dougal Dixon's "After Man: A Zoology of The Future" (1981), a pair of Raboons (giant theropod dinosaur-like descendant of the baboon, right) and a Rundihorn (elephantine descendant of antelopes, left), facing off in an open savannah in Africa, 50 million years in the future.

This scene is a direct homage to a 1928 painting depicting a Tyrannosaurus rex facing off against a Triceratops in a Late Cretaceous marshland by artist Charles R. Knight for the Field Museum in Chicago.
