Your chance to purchase the "entire production" of The Curse Of The Daleks, a #DrWho theatre play that had run at London's Wyndham's Theatre from 21 December 1965 to 15 January 1966 as a matinee show.

And the BBC has been starved of money by successive governments therefore cannot compete because of a political will to prevent it from ‘upsetting its commercial competitors’; it could still make another Abigail’s Party. Channel 4’s different problem is partly self-inflicted through stupidity.

“…happened again less than a week later when ITV’s thriller Coldwater narrowly beat Channel 5’s Fare Dodgers: At War With the Law”

Says it all. ITV still has a colossal perception problem not helped by an aging schedule that should have been revamped 20 years ago but it’s now too late for them.

Last month, something unusual happened in TV - none of the main channels got a million viewers at 9pm. The bigger problem was it happened a 2nd & 3rd time soon after.

Another unwelcome landmark for linear TV & our shrinking shared TV experience.

Does it matter?

UK broadcasters used to rely on big audiences at 9pm, but as viewing habits change, figures are falling below the 1m mark

Tremendous filming shot from "The Invasion". Pat's trousers and braces make me think he's about to go and stand in a river next to Bob and Paul.
Behind the scenes shot from the filming of "Doctor Who" - "The Invasion". Our three regulars await the call to spring into action, standing in a field. There's a film camera pointing at them. All seem somewhat distracted by something we can't see, to the right of the frame.

The last “AI Upscaled” YouTube video I saw looked like a blurry cartoon. And I’m not joking.

I'll be at this year's Square Eye TV, introducing an ultra rare screening of the 1975 adaptation of Poe's Imp of the Perverse, starring Michael Kitchen and Lalla Ward.

Also screening is the magnificent A View from a Hill from 2005, followed by a Q&A with writer Peter Harness.

A fascinating insight into the cataloguing and preservation of UK film collections, some of which are at very real risk of being lost forever without the hard work and dedication of people like Film Are Fabulous. Recommended listening.

WILL VIEWERS EXTERMINATE DR. WHO BEFORE THESE DO?
#DoctorWho's biggest threat doesn't come from the Daleks or the Androids. It comes from TV licence evaders . . .

There was a guy called in the 60s called John Cura who took 250k 'tele-snaps', up to 80s shots per programme, which he sold to actors/directors. In some cases, his shots are all that remain of lost TV episodes, including Doctor Who.

It's Bluesky so I would like to now talk to you, with authority, about something I know nothing about.

TV production.
UK TV can't afford to make TV (see article) so...

Here's a still from Blake's 7 series 4 ep9 "Sand"
Isn't it terrible. So unconvincing.
TV is so much better now...

All of the above, but with a single caveat: Kieran Prendeville is brought in and tarred/feathered in E01 for misleading the public about the durability of the CD format.

Illustrates that science is imperfect, ever-evolving and has real world consequences.

Modest proposal:

BBC BRING BACK 'TOMORROW'S WORLD'.

Science, tech, environment reporting are woeful currently. Something that blasts excitement about what a golden age we're in of discovery (vaccines, computing, space exploration etc etc) but can also be a trojan horse for warnings on climate etc
