Got new glasses with a new prescription and it’s like I’ve bought a 4K player for my eyes.

Are they trying to pretend this isn’t Grace & Favour?

I can't not like Robson Green. I once did a set visit to Grantchester and he came over to talk to us journos early on and said, "Shall we get me over and done with cos I know you're all waiting for James Norton?" #TOTP

Dane Bowers used to live down the road from me in Purley. #totp

I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing - forever associated in my mind with me and Sarah seeing Armageddon at the Cromer Regal, the air con being on the blink, and us being hotter than they were on that space mission. #TOTP

Excellent day so far. 12-hour shift working on the Radio Times Christmas issue, followed by the microwave almost blowing up and my son destroying a hairdryer.

My son (who hasn't watched #EastEnders since Christmas): Why is that blonde one STILL in hospital?

BBC Four is marking the 60th anniversary of Jackanory on Sat 13 Dec with two classic editions featuring Judi Dench and Alan Bennett.
Interesting that it comes so soon after both the report of the big decline in children reading for pleasure and the ridiculous axing of Between the Covers. #Jackanory

That Fresh Prince question was terrific. Kicking myself! #OnlyConnect

Oh my lord - Cindy Beale almost went 12 months without someone attacking her. Almost. #EastEnders

Much as I used to love Grange Hill, the revival of Waterloo Road is now doing this job. Really well, I have to say.

I can't believe the BBC would dream of pausing #Strictly next year when a Results show with no actual results in it got 6.34 million viewers. #SCD

Changing Ends is, in my opinion, ITV's best comedy in years. It's back for a third series, which is now up in its entirety on ITVX. Here's my Radio Times preview #ChangingEnds

Good news - no one is leaving #Strictly this week
Bad news - the Laura Kuenssberg show will now run to two hours to fill the gap in Sunday's schedules..

(I'm joking, obvs!)

Very much enjoying the startling change of tone in the weekly watchlist email from Tubi.

What I didn't understand about this Play for Today is why a room that's been locked up for 50 years would look this clean and free from dust? #PlayForToday

30 Years ago today, a debate raged in our student house because half of us wanted to watch the Princess Diana interview and half of us wanted to watch Cracker and no one had a VHS recorder.

Feeling homicidal after opening the door of the washing machine to discover that one of the kids had left a tissue in the pocket of their trousers.

New detective drama Cooper & Fry (5 at 8.00pm) is my Radio Times pick of the day. It's got a folklore vibe to it, like a pagan Vera, if you can imagine such a thing. I enjoyed it, I have to say. #CooperAndFry

Never mind Island of Strangers, Labour are now a Government of Strangers. I just don't recognise what they've become and can't credit what I'm reading this morning. Horribly depressed by the whole lot of it.

Is it me or is this episode of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here absolutely unbearable?

Me: Olly Alexander is now starring in The Importance of Being Earnest in the West End.
My wife: Oh he'll be awful. Can he even act? Has he done any acting? Totally unsuitable".
(Silence for 20 seconds as we carry on walking)
My wife: Oh sorry, I was thinking of Olly Murs.
