Excellent day so far. 12-hour shift working on the Radio Times Christmas issue, followed by the microwave almost blowing up and my son destroying a hairdryer.

BBC Four is marking the 60th anniversary of Jackanory on Sat 13 Dec with two classic editions featuring Judi Dench and Alan Bennett.
Interesting that it comes so soon after both the report of the big decline in children reading for pleasure and the ridiculous axing of Between the Covers. #Jackanory

New detective drama Cooper & Fry (5 at 8.00pm) is my Radio Times pick of the day. It's got a folklore vibe to it, like a pagan Vera, if you can imagine such a thing. I enjoyed it, I have to say. #CooperAndFry

Never mind Island of Strangers, Labour are now a Government of Strangers. I just don't recognise what they've become and can't credit what I'm reading this morning. Horribly depressed by the whole lot of it.
