“many prominent young republicans are actual Nazis” is a self-censoring fact at this point

normie swing voters will literally refuse to believe it and the media refuses to report it because it would call everything else they’ve done into question
beijingpalmer.bsky.social
while 'young republicans are literal nazis' is well known to folks here, the extent of it is surprisingly not that commonly known even in media and analyst circles, let alone normal people.

“Arrogant” poster has 730 followers, “appearance” poster has 529, and both are clearly right-wing Republicans, as are “too angry” and “kooky”! What are we doing here
Random commenters on social media platforms Bluesky and X have now begun opining that they've always had issues with Porter. Some cited her "arrogant" attitude and her appearance. Some claimed she always seemed too "angry" to be trusted. Some called her "kooky." Even her whiteboard wasn't immune.

The precursor of the Presidential Medal of Freedom was the Congressional Medal of Freedom, which was established in 1945 to honor civilians who aided the fight against fascism in WWII.
from wikipedia, a bronze medal with an image of Columbia crowned with stars and an eagle headdress over the word Freedom, with a red ribbon and a bronze palm.

Remember: You can't force a site or service to treat minors differently than adults without requiring EVERY USER to establish whether they're an adult. Which is, inherently, a deanonymization mandate, because to verify age, you must verify identity.

Because marginalized people are the ones whose speech is most often disapproved of, the burden and consequences of deanonymization laws falls extremely disproportionately on them, and always will. No one should ever support mandatory age verification, ever.

Mandatory age verification to "protect children" is not to protect children. It is to deanonymize every adult speaker and consumer of speech online so the government can retaliate against speakers and speech they don't approve of. For instance: apnews.com/article/trum...

Gavin Newsom is a shitheel who should never be president, but the legislation he vetoed was unconstitutional, poorly written, both underinclusive and overexclusive, a severe privacy infringement for adults, and would have done nothing but cost California lots of money in court (to lose)

Since the Alien Registration Act of 1940, every noncitizen has been required to carry their documents with them at ALL times. That applies to every green card holder, every tourist, every foreign student, etc...

No admin in the modern era has EVER tried to enforce this law.
(e)Personal possession of registration or receipt card; penalties
Every alien, eighteen years of age and over, shall at all times carry with him and have in his personal possession any certificate of alien registration or alien registration receipt card issued to him pursuant to subsection (d). Any alien who fails to comply with the provisions of this subsection shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall upon conviction for each offense be fined not to exceed $100 or be imprisoned not more than thirty days, or both.

Article I, Section 9, Clause 7: "No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law"

since there's reports on social media of money hitting accounts worth reiterating that this is illegal and unconstitutional as shit, it's not a close question, and while I don't expect anyone on H/SASC or H/SAC will do anything, anyone performing this 'reprogramming' should face criminal penalties
mikeblack114.bsky.social
It's also worth reiterating that absent this reprogramming authority being written into law it would be not just illegal but flatly unconstitutional for DoD to expend money in any fashion not explicitly specified (by both type/use and quantity) by Congress in an appropriations bill

a key thing about vought — and all of these guys — is that they have a totally top down and hierarchical vision of the world. they believe that the cultural changes they hate can be turned off by destroying the federal government because they can’t imagine that they emerged bottom-up in society

What he’s railing against is a profound shift in culture, status… He’s obsessed with the idea that America is controlled by a leftist “ruling elite” - but “elite” isn’t defined socio-economically or by political power, it means something like: Getting to define “real America” and who gets to belong.

First the basics: The vast bulk of physical and sexual violence in our society is *not* perpetrated by strangers, but by people who know each other. Obscuring this fact is a critical feature of copaganda in the news. People are shocked to hear it. Why?
