Democrats should be drawing up legislation right now, this very minute, to bar Trump from helping himself to $230 million in taxpayer funds from DOJ. Challenge Republicans to hold a vote on it. Push this so hard in the media that every GOP Senate and House candidate is pressed to comment on it.

Dems, I bet of you, STOP VOTING FOR TRUMP JUDGES JESUS FUCKING CHRIST
By a vote of 66-32, the #Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Harold D. Mooty III to be US District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama.

This is the asymmetry in our politics and media. If this was the other way around, Biden had pardoned someone then charged with trying to kill Trump, it would be the biggest story in America and every Republican commentator, congressman, news outlet, would be screaming about it in unison.
Pardoned Capitol rioter charged with threatening to kill Hakeem Jeffries at NYC event this week
A pardoned Capitol rioter was arrested last weekend for allegedly threatening to kill the top House Democrat.

NEW: Four years after GOP lawmakers in Georgia enacted one of the most aggressive anti-voting laws in the country, new evidence filed in federal court shows that Senate Bill 202 has drastically deepened racial inequalities in voting access in the state. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

“They didn’t treat people like they were American.” In Chicago last month, federal agents carried out one of the most aggressive immigration operations in recent memory, sweeping up dozens of U.S. citizens who were detained in the middle of the night. nyti.ms/3Jgpxob

Last year, Trump's people and some in the press made a whole hoopla about Biden supposedly calling Trump's supporters "garbage" (after someone at Trump's rally called Puerto Rico an island of garbage). But Trump posting a video of him dropping poop on protesters is just a Monday.

What is “satirical” about shitting on the American public, Mike? What “point” is that proving? Why do you have the moral fiber of a weasel on meth, Mike?
Q: What does it say that president released a video of him pooping on the American people?

MIKE JOHNSON: You can argue he's probably the most effective person who has ever used social media. He's using satire to make a point. He's not calling for the murder of his political opponents.

Well hey, look who's back!
in a sane word it would be considered wildly inappropriate for the Deputy FBI Director to go on Fox & Friends and cut WWE-style promos on sitting governors
It’s crazy to me that they have all of maha talking about chronic health conditions when primary care and preventive care can do some much to prevent these, but then turn around and say young people don’t need comprehensive care…

Trump says if he invokes the Insurrection Act, ”there is no more court cases, there is no more anything.”
By “no more anything” he means no more democracy.
Trump: "I'm allowed as you know as president, like 50% of the presidents have used the Insurrection Act. Everybody agrees you're allowed to use that and there is no more court cases, there is no more anything. We're trying to do it in a nicer manner, but we can always use the Insurrection Act."

The networks took the much smaller Tea Party movement so seriously they broadcast a Tea Party rebuttal to Obama’s 2011 SOTU on top of the normal GOP one.
Reminder: We spent YEARS reading thousands and thousands of articles on the Tea Party and how it was a true expression of the American people's will, and it never mounted anything nearly as big as Saturday's No Kings rallies. [1/3]

This story is extraordinary even by 2025 standards. Marco Rubio, the nation's top diplomat, made a deal with Bukele and agreed to renege on informant agreements in a years-long DOJ investigation into MS-13, totally undercutting credibility of such agreements.

Rubio promised to betray U.S. informants to get Trump’s El Salvador prison deal
To secure U.S. access to President Nayib Bukele’s notorious CECOT prison, Rubio agreed to turn over several MS-13 leaders central to a long-running Justice Department investigation.

The largest mass protests by number of participants in US history happened yesterday and the only mention on the front page of the NYT is Jamelle Bouie's opinion column: no diner-diving for sentiments of the unheard masses, no coverage of the Trump video, no sense for what it says about the moment.

I’m glad this is being covered. Federal judges have been warning us as best they know how. When I looked into this back in June, I found dozens of cases where judges suggested that the Trump administration’s conduct was untrustworthy or acting in bad faith.
