And the filling visit was $322. So $640 total because I had a fucking cavity. INSANE.
Cost of my cleaning before my filling appointment: $221. So consultation+cleaning= $318. I'll check back in December when I get the actual procedure for a more complete look at how expensive dentistry is in America.
Let's keep a running total of the cost of basic dental care! So far, it was $97 for a 5-minute consultation and X-Rays and the craziest part is the x-rays were only $25, the other $72 was for that 5 minutes with the dentist looking and going, "Yep, you need a filling, later!"

School today sent out a message saying to be careful because there was ICE IN THE PARKING LOT and then had to hastily send a clarifying followup that they meant the frozen water, not immigration enforcement.

Today was terrible (broadly, but I'm talking about my life right now) because we had to nix the trip to see my sister cause I got sick and puked an hour into our trip so we cancelled it, and tomorrow I have a dentist appointment to get fillings. And then this week I work 6 days + long hours. Uggggh.

The ACA isn't just "health care for people who don't have a conventional employer." It also disallows something that was incredibly common 20 years ago, which I fear is getting lost to generational memory: insurance companies could deny you health care for essentially any previous health problem.
I'm dubious about Amazon's commitment to keeping pre-existing conditions a thing of the past.

I can’t think of a film in the entire canon that appeals to an audience’s sense of innocence more than THE PRINCESS BRIDE. He knew you had it in you, even if you were outwardly afraid of the kissing stuff. He knew Gordy needed a Chris to tell him he could be great. He knew Sally needed a Harry.
