This is the future liberals want.

Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
This and "Let's just bring our personal phones into the SCIF. As a treat."

Okay I'm lying, there's a ton of shit wrong with this movie but I'm mid-Battlefield session so my complaining will have to wait for another time.
Watching A House of Dynamite and really enjoying it so far, but the scene in which the Deputy National Security Advisor takes a call about a likely nuclear strike while wearing AirPods amid a crowd of tourists is too much.

Might as well Signal chat a journalist about it at that point

If your newspaper is giving Donald Trump softer headlines and gauzier coverage than People Magazine, that should be a bit of a wake up call.
someone invited people magazine to the kitchen and they brought their own knives
I need a time machine or a fax machine capable of sending faxes to 1942.

i strongly encourage the white house to make vance the face of their shutdown defense, i cannot think of a better man for the job, this defense is flawlessly persuasive, keep it up

Mainstream pundits repeatedly scolded Dems, telling their viewers and readers that the polling would turn and Dems would get blamed. Didn't happen. The pundits are living in an alternate reality mediated by Twitter and have lost touch with reality.
👀 NEW: Americans blame Trump and GOP more than Democrats for shutdown, per new @washingtonpost.com poll.

Independents blame Trump and Republicans more than Democrats by a 2-to-1 margin, 46% to 23%.

The bit about the Gulf War is annoying too, not that he's wrong, but acting like the defense industry and DoD were unaware that China saw the Gulf War as a wakeup call.

It's basic knowledge at this point.
Journalists when you threaten them.
David Cicilline, come on down!

Combo as a former congresscritter and former mayor of a large city.
We need at least one obscure former Senator/congresscreature that makes you go "oh yeah they exist!", a weird business guy no one has ever heard of with delusions of grandeur, a former mayor of a large city, an absolute woo weirdo and John Delaney

Why would someone pay $20k for a robot controlled by a human in a remote location to do things more slowly and clumsily when the median wage for a maid or housekeeper is $33k per year, which is typically spread across 10-20 households?

i'm a classical social democrat. i think we should raise tax on the upper tax brackets, increase broad-based tax enforcement, and provide universal programs on transit, housing, and healthcare. this apparently is viewed as neoliberalism
you get the feeling that half of the people involved want like, Dubai/Saudi style taxation but leftistly
Yes, you will pay more taxes. I will pay more taxes. In exchange, no one will ever have to worry about going bankrupt because of medical bills again.

I am in favor of that trade-off.

Note: This is me — I asked this question.

You’ll hear me say “yes you have” here — because Johnson was already *directly asked* about one of these instances (when the Presbyterian minister was shot in the head with a pepper ball) in one of earlier shutdown press conferences.
Q: Just last week a minister was shot directly in the face with a pepper round by a DHS agent that left his face bloodied. Are you concerned that this is a religious freedom issue?

MIKE JOHNSON: I can't comment on any of those instances. I haven't seen or heard any of those videos
