I'm privileged to call Robin a friend, and as such, have seen behind the curtains with what went on with Monkey Cage. When BBC bosses say they don't recognise his version of events, I was being told of them by Robin in real time. This stuff has been going on for YEARS.
I'm heartbroken for him.

Literally all us asd-af kids were the narrators
So - did you take part in a nativity play at school and if so, what part did you play?

I got the part of the frankincense guy - I was the only child in the class who could pronounce the word ...!
Nativity plays have been a much-loved part of the school year in infant and junior schools across the UK for many years. These performances brought the Christmas story to life with a mix of earnestness and unintentional comedy. Classrooms buzzed with excitement as tea towels and

Can someone maybe tell the Russians Invaded Shannon Airport Just By Landing fuckwit about literally the entire post-1984 history of plane hijacks and how successful they now universally aren't?

It would, but not even slightly for that reason. If HS2 were a road any whiff of objection for a nationally-important infrastructure programme would have been kicked in the face, and both east and west northern branches would already be open
If HS2 was a motorway, it would have been built by now! But because new rail projects are minutely analysed with this "value for the taxpayer" nonsense. If road building was held to the same level of scrutiny, a sizable amount of the road network would still be cart tracks.

I'm annoyed now, but I shall become fully ungovernable if anyone at Radio 4 is hateful enough to attempt even one episode of Monkey Cage without Robin Ince
Heartbreaking night where I told the final audience for Monkey Cage that I will ever play to that I had no choice but to resign
In the audience today at the amazing Niamos theatre in Manchester for the Christmas recording of Infinite Monkey Cage. Devastating news from @robinince.bsky.social - what must have been an incredibly difficult decision but absolutely the correct and humane one. Robin remains the best of us.

Poss we missed this but BBC Studios during its "kill Lineker at all costs" period also decided that *literal comics are no longer allowed to have opinions that cunts do not like* and still do any work for BBC *Radio*.

Was a fan of Robin since forever and after meeting only more so

Fuck. This.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

At what point did being completely wrong start counting as an “opinion”? Claiming vaccines cause autism isn’t an opinion. It’s utter bullshit. And then they say, “Well, that’s my opinion, you have to respect it.” No. I don’t have to respect stupidity. Fuck off.

25 years ago today, SCOTUS elected George W Bush president of the United States by blocking completion of a voting canvass in Florida. A subsequent canvass by the Associated Press showed that Bush's rival, Al Gore, had won the race in Florida—and thus the contest for the presidency—by 700 votes.

The 80s: when the dominant culture opted out of caring about anything and yada yada fun. What anybody remembers about the 80s: the art and music of the people who raged against that shit
1/ I just feel that if we let young people see that we're propelling ourselves out of the geological and climatic epoch in which all human civilizations developed and fostering a brutal apathy to ecocide and genocide... it's not a particular surprise that they're mirroring the obliviousness.
