Doug Ford has blood on his hands after only 13 days
Pedestrian struck by motorist on Parkside a block from the speed camera that vigilantes kept tearing down that caused ford to remove them from all Ontario. Drive as you wish Ontario. Nobody matters. This is what you voted for.

We had one of the main sources of housing supply based on treating it like a speculative commodity.

Are we really that surprised when it goes bust?

The Toronto condo isn't dead — but it's going to be different
Condos made investors rich — until suddenly they didn’t. As the crash claims ‘tens of billions’ in losses, this is what's coming next.

When your government is run by feelings and vibes
so our government made a big deal about banning speed cameras but one city left theirs running to see what difference the ban would make and you are not going to believe this

Guilbeault had established himself as a prominent environmental activist and organizer long before he ran for office, let alone became Trudeau’s Environment Minister. He’s sticking to his principles by resigning, and that’s admirable no matter where you stand.

Values only matter when they’re tested. The first thing we did in the face of Trump is abandon any pretence of taking the planet or Indigenous rights seriously. It was an admittedly thin pretence to begin with. www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/art...

ontario: best we can do is street signs so big they fully obscure schoolchildren

This is so disingenuous.
No one is angry about AI being used for intense processing of data for scientific and medical uses, we’re angry that the hypemen claim it can *think* or make art or replace human workers. Conflating all of this is the problem.
People on BlueSky: AI is useless! A stochastic parrot!

75% of condos were purchased to rent out, not to live in. But people can’t afford the rent. Supply only adds housing if profit expectations are reasonable and something the end-user can actually afford. People got too greedy and here we are. podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/t...

We need to talk about Doug Ford
He uses exactly the same tactics. Flood the zone. Ignore data and research. Bulldoze his way through. Bypass the democratic process. Harm his own people.

We need a general strike.

I am *begging* the Doug Ford government to stop calling every bill the “Protect Ontario by” yadda yadda. This is worse than when we started calling every Toronto initiative “somethingTO.” You’re not “protecting” anyone but your donors and the word has lost all meaning.
