Oh wow. Bud Cort passed too. HAROLD AND MAUDE is an all-timer. One of the sweetest, most empathetic movies ever made.

‘Four Night Seas’ is an exceptional first book of short stories. Niamh Mac Cabe takes the reader deep into the textures and instabilities of memory, desire and loss, with well-judged humour and vivid depictions of landscape and character. Published @lilliputpress.bsky.social March.

You need to use your local library more. If it absolutely needs to get done and you have literal cents to spare to make it happen, a librarian is like your personal assassin. Libraries have saved my ass so many times, in so many ways.

I missed it but yesterday was the 3rd anniversary of my first (and so far only) funny, scary, idiosyncratic, tender short book being published. It's still around, still thirsty for new people to read it!

The album this song is from came out 48 years ago today! It had such a huge impact on me that to this day I can remember the road we were driving on in Lynden, WA when I first heard it! We smoked some homegrown and I was in heaven!

Friday grader told me today she could feel her heart beeping. We listened to it w my stethoscope. The way people smile when they hear their own hearts is like they’re being introduced to a new friend. Like realizing they’re not alone.

50 years then. Doesn't time fly when you're waiting for a real rain to come? I'll never forget walking thru Broadmead in Bristol and seeing that poster above the Odeon. I don't think a poster has ever made me want to see a movie more than that street shot of De Niro did.
Just listened to a fascinating R3 Between The Ears on Bernard Herrmann and writing the score for Taxi Driver. That got me through half an hour of boring Sunday evening kitchen chores a treat.
