Cut down the dry echinacea & soaked my old shoes in the tub. Emptied the hummingbird feeder. Bleached my laces. I know my country is built on burial grounds. I know we’re cursed. I think the blue jay & the cardinal know it too.

Thanks, James! I was able to split it into two sittings but with much willpower. She is an incredible writer. This is the 2nd book by her I've read, and I think I'm going to end up reading everything she's written.

This filthy paperback has been mine for decades and miles and perhaps other countries. I don’t remember a thing abt it. The first story just surprised me very much.
