One of my cats has a nightly ritual where he taps on the blanket so my wife will lift it up, crawls under it, and lies under there purring for about 45 actual minutes until he goes to sleep. Either he’s got a flashlight and tiny comics in there or he’s just sweet as puddin’ pie

I’ve got my YouTube algorithm trained so well. This showed up in my feed. Look at this legend in his red cabbage hat and fleece! I’m gonna talk to my dad about maybe adopting this guy as my second dad

IMO, it raises the question of how useful are executives?
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

The guy shot two random people with a gun, I don't think you can say he wasn't assimilating into our culture
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

I had my eye rolling muscles all warmed up for this article, but I ended up not needing them. Apparently the “Indians feeding the pilgrims and then conveniently disappearing” story was like 1890s or so, and before that it was super abolitionist since like 1808. Who knew? Oh. Right. Those 1890s jerks
Well I learned something new today
I hope you're having a happy Thanksgiving. Here's a great piece from @kaliholloway.bsky.social on how Turkey Day was long opposed by white evangelicals as a holiday for woke Yankees www.thenation.com/article/soci...

Every prompt to chatbot software is “generate me some text.” If it generated you some text, it performed its function correctly. It never lies, it never wants anything, it’s text generating software that generates text.
Not wanting to disappoint you so much that it lies is the last quality I want in a computer.

They’re all serious, but I’m cracking up at this thread of Brits and Americans debating sweet potatoes with marshmallows. You’d think a nation whose cuisine is based on rationing would be sympathetic to a dish based on being creative with what’s available, which is also delicious and very autumnal
I know it doesn’t sound like the most glowing endorsement when I tell you that #RecipeOfTheDay – a dish of sweet potatoes with marshmallows – tastes so much better than you’d think, but I make this statement with my fellow non-Americans in mind! 🧡HAPPY THANKSGIVING🧡 www.nigella.com/recipes/swee...
Sweet Potatoes With Marshmallows
The American tradition of cooking sweet potatoes with marshmallows is a bit of a leap for the European reader. But it always pays to keep an open mind. I find myself strangely compelled by the lusciou...

The Horne Section is brilliant. It’s very rare for musical comedy to be good at both. I really like their TV show, podcast, etc., but this special from 2018 is maybe the best showcase of their style
