This is something I’ve thought about A LOT lately- the kinds of essential reporting that large traditional media has inexplicably stopped doing. For example, why aren’t there more reporters in the streets of DC, describing what it’s like? It’s truly dumbfounding
Investigative stuff is why I subscribe to independent media, including the handbasket. For me reason, large media with 1000x the resources will never do what I want, which is tell me what's what, who's who, and who's a little bitch.
NEW: A week or so ago, one federal agent kept popping up in videos from Trump's violent DC crackdown—so @jsweetli.bsky.social and I investigated. Turns out he's a 26-year-old US Parks Police officer, a lesser known law enforcement unit currently championed by Interior Sec. Doug Burnum.

Trump, talking at Fort Bragg right now about Los Angeles, is doing something I'm not sure I've ever seen a president do: he's actively maligning people in Los Angeles — an American city — in front of U.S. troops.

look you know I rarely have a good word to say about the political press in America but lets not excuse the voters themselves here.
Donald Trump has lost nearly 10% of voters—almost 20% of his support—since his election last year. He’s done so largely because he’s pursued the policies he ran on, and most people hate them.
Who is at fault for voters not understanding what he ran on? I’d say the press is largely culpable.

Man there's so little tactical detail for the Battle of Endor. It's mostly isolated micro-tactical anecdotes and throw-away lines. The Rebel Alliance beat the Imperial Navy in a set-piece fleet engagement that the latter had spent its entire existence planning for. That's worth breaking down IMO.
