People often asked me where I got the name for my company, @sapientacy.bsky.social, and I reply “bad Latin”.
A 🧵for O Sapientia. 1/5 Something from the archives as we begin the O Antiphons. These prayers developed by the early church call on Christ to come and save us. They never directly used the name of Christ, but take up the titles used for the Messiah in the Old Testament.

Again and again, the optimal position when legally threatened by Trump is to be resolute in defence and prepare for court.

You will likely not then have to go to court, as he will fold or settle.

But if you seek to settle from the off, he has got you and he will crush you.
Everyone should stand up to this bully.

I suppose it’s not surprising that this is my favourite yule log, as I made it to my own requirements, but what I like about it is that it’s flourless, which gives it such a luscious, soft texture. It’s also deeply, deeply chocolatey. And it’s #RecipeOfTheDay! www.nigella.com/recipes/yule...

I know the recipe looks finicky, and I can’t promise it’s a doddle, but it works easily and you will soon find you are rolling chocolate logs without a care. In fact, if you have a lot of people comin...

I have a sneaking suspicion that no one under 40 is here (are we ok BluezGen X Facebook for GenX?) but just in case:
Covid vaccination before or during pregnancy was associated with lower risks of hospitalisation, ICU admission, and preterm birth among those infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Canada.

Incredible footage out of Bondi Beach, Sydney.

Attacks on Jewish communities keep happening globally. Ten people were killed in Sydney tonight.

Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah, a celebration of light, love & Jewish survival. No one’s Hanukkah should be spent this way.
Incredible footage out of Australia, confirmed by NEWS AU, of a brave bystander neutralizing one of the terrorists in the Bondi Beach attack which took place during a Hanukkah gathering.

Australian authorities say multiple people have been killed.

At least two suspects are in custody.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s overt embrace of Europe’s nationalists is exposing a rift among its biggest far-right parties. While Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has welcomed Trump’s moral support, France’s National Rally has kept its distance. politi.co/4oSyD9o
Trump’s backing splits European far right
The Alternative for Germany party wants legitimacy from Trump to end its isolation, while France’s National Rally sees him as a liability.

It has finally stopped raining in Nicosia and someone in the neighbourhood must be having a balcony Christmas party. During what are normally sacred siesta hours they are playing a certain kind of tinny, uninspiring Greek bazouki music that even penetrates our triple glazing 😡

Decision via Art 122 on immobilisation of Russian funds now formally taken:
The EU just decided to indefinitely immobilise Russian assets.

This ensures that up to €210 billion in Russian funds stay on EU soil, unless Russia fully pays reparations to Ukraine for the damage it has caused. (1/2)
