The cat distribution system has dropped a kitten in my backyard

The problem is less that Americans "want" to buy cheap things than that wages have not kept up with inflation. Sure, buy a couple of "timeless pieces," but if you need a full work wardrobe and it costs 8-10% of your gross income... 🤷🏻‍♀️ Vintage doesn't address the issue of availability of larger sizes

hard to just have a nice weekend with civilization collapsing in the background

I went out to a bar on my 21st birthday, the bartender was my high school social studies teacher, and at some point my dad dropped in.

is it not weird that every day there’s a new video of anonymous masked men having the time of their lives beating/shooting/disappearing people and the dem response from the top down is “republicans want to double your health insurance premiums”

Is that Lewandowski? Is she "praying" next to her affair partner?

In the spirit of manifesting what I want to see in the world, perhaps the midterms produce an impeachment-ready Congress, and the end comes sooner than expected

I like it when there are a bunch of people on here talking about a sporting event that I'm not watching.

It's like seeing a flock of pigeons eating a smashed sidewalk donut together. I'm not partaking, but you guys dig in.

Ideally you don't have to keep asking if the President even knows he's lying.

If you had a time machine, you’d kill Hitler. I’d go back and fuck a guy from the 90s a few more times. Not the same etc

I could miss work to listen to my dog snore, but nearly murdered my ex-husband for snoring

I will never stop saying that I did everything "right" by trad standards - married my high school sweetheart, stayed married for 22 years. Turns out he had a secret second family. The percentage of women 45+ who are divorced has skyrocketed. You need to be able to take care of yourself (and kids).

Yes, I challenge someone to explain how Buffalo is culturally distinct from Rochester, for example. As a New Yorker transplanted to the actual Midwest, I don't see how Buffalo is Midwestern.

I really like MSI gaming laptops, and I'd say get one with the highest-numbered GeForce RTX graphics card you can afford, the other specs will typically align.

We've been trying to appeal to young voters for decades and they mostly never show up to vote, with Obama being a notable exception, but he was a uniquely charismatic candidate the likes of which wasn't around for 2024.
femaleatlaw.bsky.social
Yes, he was basically a moderate Republican and either indistinguishable from Harris on the left-right spectrum, or right of her. The documented problem in 2024 was that Harris lost 2020 Biden voters, and I still believe that's a combo of misogyny/racism and leftists refusing to vote over Palestine.

The assumption, which has data backing it from past campaigns at all levels, is that non-/rare voters are a more unlikely get than engaged voters. There's just not really evidence for the belief that, when the electorate is right of most Dems, running a leftist will activate non-voters. When has it?
femaleatlaw.bsky.social
There are a bunch of sources that analyze this, but no, Trump's major advantage was in retaining his prior Repub voters, not getting new/infrequent voters. Harris was pretty close to Trump in terms of share of new/rare voters. Harris was hurt by failure of regular/past Dem voters to turn out.
