Hot take: I do not like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Too many random stops for musical numbers and too many talking heads instead of actual footage of the parade itself. (I did not watch this year.)
I prefer Chicago's plan, which is to front-load performances and then show the damn parade.

It may sound cheesey, but I really love the performances before the Chicago Thanksgiving parade. So far I've seen Chinese, Lithuanian, Indian, Polish, and Mexican folk dancers, and I havent been watching that long. It really showcases the diversity of this city. I love it.

It's a bit late what with Thanksgiving being tomorrow and all, but I figured I'd share my recipe for cranberry relish. I first made this in preschool, and it's been a family staple ever since at the holidays. Super-easy and delicious.

In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

Passed an empty storefront this morning, and on the windows people had scrawled graffiti in the thick dust. Between the usual dick & balls doodles was a surprising amount of "fuck ICE" & "free Palestine." In my whitebread middle class suburb? You love to see it.

My son woke me up at 4:45 in the morning. Yay. I figured out why he woke up: my neighbor's German Shepherd was barking loudly outside. He got it to be a guard dog & while it's great at keeping his psycho ex away, it barks uncontrollably at anyone who's not him. Win for him, loss for us.

Two grades ahead was Ryan McPartlin, who starred on the TV show "Chuck." Lamorne Morris of "New Girl" fame was two grades behind me, and is still friends with my friend and activist @qasimrashid.com, whom I met through his older brother, my friend.
Who was in your high school graduating class, +/- two years, that would be of interest?
For example, I took a basketball class and graduated w/all-time 8th man Jud Buechler (look it up), and may have followed Stephanie Seymour (not sure if she still WENT to school after I moved there).

at one point, i watched a cook county sheriff’s officer (who appears to be in charge) point out a priest in the crowd.
he and a couple officers then went into the crowd , dragged him into the street, and arrested him.
situation is still tense as crowd jostles with police to get into the street.
