I have some thoughts about women - of all ages - leaving evangelicalism. 🧵

First of all, of course they are! I wrote about how women have spent the last two decades (and really longer) calling out alienating, unbiblical evangelical rhetoric and politics. 1/x www.baylorpress.com/978148131893...

I don't think she'll win but I've been wrong before
I don't know if Aftyn Behn can do this, but she did beat a guy named Bo *and* a *different* guy with a last name of Dixie in the primary so maybe she is operating on a previously unknown tier of Southern Democrat

I’m ready for the Al Franken redemption arc
Years ago, my colleagues at Business Insider and I tracked YouTuber “cancellation” arcs. What we found is that for many entertainers, “cancellation” actually sets the stage for a redemption arc, one that can raise their profile higher than ever. It wasn’t career-ending. It was fuel.

For all have posted dumb tweets and fallen short of the glory of god
Growing up evangelical, as a kid I was taught that I would one day stand before God and be shown a slideshow of my sins and though I have left that belief behind I do sometimes fear I’ll be shown a reel of some of my best (worst?) tweets and skeets and won’t be able to not laugh and will upset Jesus

I'm supposed to bring a pie/cake to family Thanksgiving on Saturday. I'm a decent baker but I don't really have a go-to recipe for this -- please give me ideas for what will travel well, be fine at room temperature for a bit, and suit both kids and adults? 🍽️ #baking
