I don't want to say that @wearenotenemies.bsky.social and I have a great episode on Just War theory and current events in the Caribbean that will drop tomorrow morning, but ... we really have a great episode dropping tomorrow morning.

Sacred Shenanigans podcast, friends. It's the place to be!

A happy Feast of Saint Nicholas to all who celebrate.
(We do.)

Everyone remembers the Lada, right? I’m old enough to have driven one of the pre-Fall models. Doors were stuffed with newspaper.

The Trumpada is imminent.

1/ "If we keep women poor, they'll be forced to marry and reproduce. We can then mold their children into our white-ethno state more easily." - Said by the woman sleeping on the pile of money her husband's death provided.

1/ The current rationalization and lust for extrajudicial murder by the United States government (not to mention Congressionally/Legally approved martial action) is a direct and predictable fruit of both a Christianity distanced from its origins/originator and American Evangelism.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but ... by MAGA's definition of DEI Samantha Fulnecky getting a pass on her pathetic OU paper is literally DEI for white AmEv karen culture warriors.

A consistent fruit of Christian Nationalism is homicide.

All Christian Nationalists inevitably end up as murderers and/or accomplices. It simply cannot be helped. When one insists their theological views *must* reign supreme, the siren-call of violence is irresistible.

Considering all the revelations about Epstein and Trump and their pedo ring … it’s a sure bet that this year people won’t be seating MAGA relatives near the kiddie table.

1/ New episode!
The House got wind that we were dropping our Epstein episode today, and ran to vote to release the files! Today, Bon and @wearenotenemies.bsky.social talk about Epstein, how deep rot can go, what complicity looks like, and Ben teaches us about properly centered Christian identity.

A fruit of “Christian” America.
November 18, 2025 at 11:18 PM
The “good” we seek is only as good as the evil we excuse to win that “good.”

When a Christian excuses an evil, they explicitly say that the Cross is only as good as the evil they excuse or ignore.

Consistency matters. Inconsistency is the mother of all hypocrisy.

If our idea of an abundant life is measured in something other than souls pointed to the Cross, succor given sacrificially, and love demonstrated freely and without cost … then our measure of abundance is no different than Mammon’s.
November 17, 2025 at 9:05 PM
Well, now we know why Trump called his big legislative push the “Big Beautiful Bill.”

MAGA’s new campaign slogan.
November 15, 2025 at 6:57 AM
The depths of one's faith and consistency of one's praxis/ witness can be measured by the amount of compromise one engages in for personal agenda or policy lust.

We are now officially less than a week of news cycles away from the GOP saying “Trump didn’t do anything wrong. After all the girl was 15.”
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."
November 13, 2025 at 6:59 PM
This is an astute point.

Ladies, your voices matter. Thank God for your voices. May every man who ignores those voices or tries to minimize them repent.

The Dems caving on the shutdown to people who are literally stripping HC and starving people … demonstrates why they’ll lose in the midterms. And why they should. MAGA has no moral spine. And now the Dems show they don’t either.

Sigh.
November 10, 2025 at 4:05 AM
Correct.
"Democrats could have held the line on the shutdown, and spent weeks watching Trump’s approval ratings fall," writes @jonathanbchait.bsky.social
Instead, he argues, they're making a mistake by giving in:

Senate Democrats Just Made a Huge Mistake
The shutdown was hurting Trump. Ending it helps him.

I hate to be the one to tell MAGA Christen this … but Charlie Kirk held the same views as Tucker Carlson still does.

Standing up for Kirk at the same time you whine about Carlson isn’t just tone deaf … it shows a total lack of self-awareness and critical thinking.
