This is so sad. She's been made to be misanthropic by the false consciousness promoted by the capitalists who control our political system. I hope that she realizes that all working people are in this together and that we should unite in solidarity rather than clawing at each other over scraps.

Yeah getting duped by Bernie for the second time was a breaking point for me. I wouldn't learn the extent of his deception until later. Here's a pretty good read on Bernie's deal with the Democrats. Can't vouch for the rest of the site or the author's other work, but this is well sourced etc:
Bernie Out of the Closet: Sanders’ Longstanding Deal with the Democrats | Black Agenda Report
by Paul Street Bernie may call himself a socialist, but since his terms as mayor of Burlington VT in the 1980s, the state's Democrats have never run anybody against him.  In return "socialist" Bernie ...

I wish you success. I know that your heart is in the right place. I don't believe that the people who ultimately control the DNC have the same interests as working people. I've seen evidence that whenever a local branch gets too progressive, they find ways to delete them. Example:
Democratic Socialists Won in Nevada. Then All the Democratic Staffers Quit.
Why would Democrats rather lose to Republicans than win with socialists?

The ppl asking you these questions are looking for a material outcome like lowered rents, better working conditions, less oppressive police. What is something that you can hold up to prove that they aren't wasting your time with symbolic procedural stuff while the donors continue to run everything?

Yes. Just don't put yourself into the box of 'oh we can only do electoralism, we're trapped.'
A trap does exist- but we are helping people to realize this and pull themselves out of it.

I know it sounds like a lot, but please remember that you don't have to go into solo combat against capitalism. Just be a small little drop in a much larger bucket. Do the reading. Talk to other people. Spread the word. Keep going until these ideas hit critical mass.

Your initial reply was “democrats are our only option” and it’s really important you understand they are in fact not an option if your goal is to abolish capitalism.

Meeting the people where they are, listening to their concerns, and providing them with the missing pieces of information they need to achieve class consciousness is how we will win. I was a lib once too- but I was changed when I was exposed to the right ideas in the right way at the right time.

It sucks so bad. I don't think we're falling for it as much as we used to though. I was delusional about AOC and Bernie for years. I had my realization about Zohran within a matter of months.

Just a reminder from a teacher: teachers don't threaten to quit their jobs for political reasons. It's not okay for public servants to say stuff like that.
dionysusdream.bsky.social
Yep! They would be doing us a favor if they would just come out and say 'we're center right,' but instead their fecklessness poisons people against the actual left.

Good observation! They're all 'climbers.' They're obsessed with credentialism and optics.

AFT is captured by big tech and other capitalists. They haven't been putting up a fight against charters and all the other stuff hollowing out k-12 education. We teachers are fed up with their failure to act, but we're buried under the stress of the job itself and it's hard to organize.

Anti trust law is no longer really enforced in the USA, meaning that every time we are forced to buy from one of the monopolies that run everything, we are the victims of a crime

It's pretty good! The hand made touches are nice. Hopefully we begin to see hundreds of thousands of videos like this- if class consciousness is going to take root soon, it's gonna take a lot of people to take the time to share things like this. Thanks for sharing it!

Our economic system is based on the people who own everything paying us the bare minimum that we need to survive on and working us as much as we will accept and using the profits from that to repeat the process as much as possible in a chain reaction of exploitation and runaway 'growth.'

You’re not poor because you’re bad with money, you’re poor because everything is too expensive and your job doesn’t pay enough.

It's more accurate to think of them as cartels- and their 'product' is the state monopoly on violence.
I'm a member of a teachers union. We do not abuse the trust that the public puts in us for political/financial gain. Police unions do that constantly.

She’s a fascist. She supports Trump and Netanyahu. Her cause is making Venezuela a capitalist nation that serves US interests.
dionysusdream.bsky.social
Yeah she's a NED creature. This is an opportunity to perhaps educate the libs on how the capitalists work on a global scale to manufacture consent for wars like the one seemingly in the works against Venezuela. If they could only 'see the pattern' and realize that all this has happened before..

Letitia James and James Comey have the best lawyers on earth and will almost certainly be fine. The fact that there’s a zillion stories about them and virtually none about NSPM-7 - which affects countless ordinary people - really says something about who the media writes for

.. wrong or oversimplified, but teenagers really like things quick and they find reading an actual website a little intimidating. Any ideas for overcoming this? I've thought about 'Website Study' as an activity where they have to appreciate a web page the way that they would write about a painting.
