I'm not saying anything about forgiveness here. Note that the word appears nowhere in the previous post.

Forgiveness is a separate issue from allowing someone to make amends for their past and rejoin society. Nobody is ever required to forgive another.

like, you are absolutely just going to wind up being stuck in jail, completely unable to do anything if you don't know who to call. they will 100% just leave you in there with no way to contact anyone! he sat in lockup for FOUR DAYS before his dad thought to call and find out if he'd been arrested!

not that I'm trying to put anyone on blast here, but an employee of mine at my last job caught a DUI last year. he found out the hard way what all young people need to know: if you don't have any phone numbers memorized, you literally have no way to get in touch with ANYONE while you're in jail.
