Boyle's agenda is why Andreessen Horowitz hired a partner whose only credential is that he strangled one of my neighbors to death.
Phyllis Schlafly is exactly the correct comparison. Boyle is a mediocre thinker turned culture warrior who rails against the policies that got her where she is. This profile could be clear about what she wants, but at least points that out.

North Carolina Democrats can counter some of the damage of Republicans' looming post–Voting Rights Act redistricting by electing a progressive majority to their state Supreme Court. That starts with the reelection of Justice Earls next year.
When I served in the majority on the North Carolina Supreme Court, the court held that extreme partisan gerrymandering violated the state constitution. That ruling was rooted in the principle that voters should choose their representatives—not the other way around.

I ended up an IV drug addict because of being overperscribed opioids to manage the pain from my severe IBD when I was in my 20s.

After getting clean, my new GI doc prescribed THC to manage the gut pain. It changed my life. Won't work for everyone, but it saved me for sure.

"Anything we can actually do, we can afford." We can have a more equal, more prosperous, and more just nation as soon as we embrace this.
Keynesianism is like Ozempic in that it's something that works but makes people mad because they want moral hazard to be involved
There’s a certain kind of person who thinks Keynesian stimulus is “putting off” a necessary correction and I’m always amazed how many of them there are.

This is silly. Sam Altman is silly. The whole AI data centre nonsense is so silly that we need Graham Chapman in a colonel's uniform to come back and shut it down for being too silly.
When Sam Altman talks about a 1GW AI data centre:

1GW over a month, released instantly, would be an 850 kiloton explosion.

A 1GW AI data centre uses as much energy as detonating ten 1-megaton H-bombs a year.

seems that RFK is clearing the path for his CDC to do tuskegee syphillis experiments as a matter of course. in other news, RFK is a genuine monster who relishes in the pain and suffering of those he feels he has control or dominion over
RFK is undoing human subjects protections so he can conduct placebo trials of vaccines. That means infecting people knowingly. I wonder who will “volunteer” for these trials? If history is any guide, a lot of incarcerated and other powerless people.
Dismantling the Institutional Review Board (IRB), that oversees all human subjects research, is bad. Really bad.
He should be fired, it was very obvious today the team quit on him. Cleveland's offense has been stuck in the mud all year and the Miami D just gifted them yards & first downs with inexcusable penalties early on. They finally cut it down but by then the Browns O was humming for the 1st time in 2025.

“I want people to know that what’s happening in Portland – the creativity, the irreverence, the refusal to be intimidated – that’s replicable,” she says. “Every city has artists. Every community has weirdos.“
after a clarinet player was arrested at Sunday's ICE protest in downtown Portland, I talked to five artists, crafters and makers - a puppet designer, an illustrator, a graphic designer, a knitter, and a theatre artist - about creativity under fascism

Jimmy Wales on Elon Musk’s attacks on Wikipedia:

the whole article could have just been ten pages of “Brilliant Things Eleanor O’Brien Said,” and some gold was left on the cutting room floor, but this is such a banger of a closer and it’s so very much the theme of today

The reason for this is that this class of people has internalized the idea of conservatives as the American Volk, an idea downstream of the senate and EC giving them more power than their numbers that has somehow become a quasi spiritual belief about the nature of the country

The Trump administration has decided to return the two survivors of the recent US airstrike to their home countries, Colombia and Ecuador, instead of prosecuting them or holding them in detention.

But if they were so dangerous that Trump had to blow up their boat, why are they being released?

Hip hop is preoccupied with the tried and true variations of "I'm getting/need to get laid," you don't hear rappers being like "wow this Cambodian food I had delivered directly to my door at 2 am sure is delicious."
I'd love for a Dem to be like "man rural life is the worst, can you imagine living in a place that sucked so bad you needed an entire genre of music to constantly pump it up? Did you ever flip on the radio and hear 'I just walked 2 minutes to the bodega yee haw'? No we already know cities are great"

The Trump shit video is basically this, but I will reiterate that if a Dem is critical of conservative voters it’s a generational scandal and when Republican pols literally post themselves shitting on their opposition virtually the entire elite politics and media class treats it as fine and normal

homeleness had fallen for 11 years, then...
Sadly the current right-wing coalition government in Finland has cut the funding for the nation’s “Housing First” success story, & homelessness is now on the rise again. That just reinforces the fact that such programs work, if political ideology doesn’t stand in the way.
