My dad was a state judge and made me take the KERRY EDWARDS bumper sticker off my car in 2004 because the title was in his name.
When I was a judicial law clerk in Montana, Pres Bush flew into the Billings airport for a rally.

I wanted to see Air Force One and asked the judge I clerked for if I could go. He said no, that it wouldn’t be appropriate.

And I was just a clerk. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/10/u...

In this companion piece I have to painstakingly explain how Matt Taibbi

1) gets our research backwards in an incomprehensible way

2) points to emails chains we weren’t on as evidence of things we did

3) imputes plans between tech & govt that happened 6mo before our election project existed, to us
And here is a supplementary companion piece on my Substack in which I include Matt Taibbi's 1800+ word response to questions in full, in the interests of fairness. (Note: this one is for the nerds)

The forcefulness, lack of communication, and unlawful practices displayed by federal agents will not be tolerated in Minnesota.

The original urban planning game wanted to model real life cities. One grim reality of American urbanism held it back.

I don't think Vance is delusional enough to think that MAGA will rally around him for that long, but he knows that pushing the 25th A solution would be seen as a stab in the back by them and so he'd never try.

But Dems should still talk about it, if only to highlight how far off the rails we are

I know we’ve been talking about the 25th Amendment being invoked for years now, but we should probably be talking about it a lot more and a lot more seriously right now.
Couple of things here:

1. Trump says he took another cognitive test recently

2. In front of "large numbers of doctors and experts"

3. He called the examinations "long...and very boring"

4. If you're given 3 cognitive exams in one year by panels of doctors, something is VERY wrong with you

🧵; the more serious problem here is that Congress (and the executive) do not have the will (for partisan reasons for Rs, b/c of timid institutionalism for many Ds) to curb the power of a self-aggrandizing court that is committed to a top-down project of reconstructing longstanding institutions.

What’s remarkable about Scott is that her philanthropy isn’t an effort to offset the moral choices made in earning her fortune, as was the case for the Carnegies et al. As far I can tell, it’s just unadulterated beneficence.
NEW YORK (AP) — Philanthropist MacKenzie Scott increased her donations to nonprofits in 2025, giving $7.1 billion.
