This year I've worked in close quarters with ~70 rank and file Teamster laborers.

With few exceptions: they have no consistent sense of ethics. No introspection. No ability to change. No distrust of power. No care for anyone outside their immediate kin.

I am at war with misanthopy and I'm losing.

Since 2020 I've had to routinely sacrifice things in my life that once made me happy.

All because the majority of Americans refused to endure the inconvenience of a face mask or getting their meal To Go.

This truth chips away at me every day. And erodes my faith in the American working class.

To understand this problem, first, you have to understand the demographics of Star Trek viewers. Trekkies are and always have been men. Women are not usually interested in science fiction, but that’s doubly true of Star Trek in particular.
