You don’t get to pick. That’s the whole damn point of the rule of law.
KARL: Did you know about the judge's order when you issued your order for the planes to continue?

KRISTI NOEM: This is an activist judge. We comply with all federal orders that are lawful and binding.

Probably time to loudly repeat that members of the military must not follow illegal orders. The US is not at war with Venezuela and has no right to threaten aircraft in its airspace, let alone shoot anything down.

Send the National Guard home. Stop bombing civilians. Quit breaking up families in America while giving sweetheart deals to sex traffickers and Apartheid deadenders. Stop ripping us off and selling out our allies just so you and your kids can get richer. For a start.

Straight-up sociopath.

Asked about a Guard member who’s dead because of his bullshit and it takes him 30 seconds to make it all about how great he is.
Q: Do you plan to attend Sarah's funeral?

TRUMP: I haven't thought about it yet, but it's certainly something I can conceive of. I love West Virginia. You know, I won West Virginia by one of the biggest margins of any president anywhere.

The war will end when Russia stops fighting. Therefore, pressure has to be put on Russia, so that they stop believing that they will win. Why is that so hard to understand?

I really wish journalists would stop using the word "retribution" to describe Trump's efforts to criminalize opposition to him, as it treats his claim that his adversaries did something wrong in the first place.

DOGE did not exist to save taxpayers money. It existed to take a wrecking ball to programs that had drifted into the crosshairs of the insane conspiracy right as hiding the secret switch that would turn off liberalism. They found nothing, destroyed entire agencies and gave the data to who knows who.
hey don't be so hard on yourselves; it delivered oceans of sensitive government and citizen data to billionaires
Musk’s DOGE Quietly Killed Off After Delivering Almost Nothing

Everybody involved will need to go to prison and if democrats in congress don’t have the stomach for punishing these people they should just resign now.
DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

One last point. In the Trump Murder Memo (the memo supposedly explaining legal rationale for Trump boat bombings), DOJ's *own lawyers* go out of their way to pre-exonerate lower-level people carrying out those killings. Experts tell me this signals fear *on the inside* that these orders are illegal!
Oddly enough, in media coverage of Dems' video warning against carrying out illegal orders, there's very little discussion of *whether it's actually reasonable to fear Trump is giving illegal commands or not.*

The evidence is strong that he is. Media should say so:

One other point I didn't make here: Allies like Britain believe the US is carrying out illegal bombings. Who are we effing kidding? Of course its reasonable to think Trump is issuing illegal orders! Why is this being treated as such a controversial suggestion?

There are going to be prominent Democrats and mainstream media voices who insist that we have to "turn the page" and "forgive and forget" and they should all be roundly ignored, if not mercilessly mocked.
It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

I find it eternally frustrating: Trump’s behavior is just the product of some very transparent, very disordered inner psychology. But for some reason that psychology is mostly taboo in the realm of political commentary; we have to pretend he has “beliefs” and “policy goals.” I assure you he does not

This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else.

One thing I think about a lot is that the reason gay rights had such a monumental victory in the last decades is because once people started coming out, just about everybody found out they knew a gay/lesbian person. It's a lot harder to hate/fear someone you know.
