All three were the worst of some bad decisions and, as a friend used to say, trying to convince yourself that a bad idea is a good idea is a bad idea.

Pete Hegseth responded to all this with the smirking, adolescent sadism of a schoolyard bully pulling the legs off of a spider. Now juxtapose this with the horror experienced by a source who saw the imagery of the men being blown apart in the water:

Wouldn’t it be nice if the emoluments clause were enforceable in court, or if Congress showed any interest in enforcing it?

If she had written an essay comparing different parts of the assigned article with parts of the Bible, she might have gotten a decent grade. But just not liking the conclusion showed no reading comprehension or analysis, so she flunked.

I looked at the essay and she deserves the zero because her essay failed the essential purpose of the assignment, which was to show that she read the assigned article. Instead, she asserts that she’s not happy with the conclusion because it violates God’s laws.

Has anyone outside of the DOJ actually seen the OLC memo on the boat murders?

If you’re a military officer who has just carried out a strike on a small boat in the ocean, you might not have known if the order is illegal. But if you’re ordered to launch a second strike on the survivors clinging to burning wreckage, you KNOW that order is illegal.

It’s definitely not a denial when you affirm (4 times) that the goal was to kill. The almost-survivors were killed to fulfill the goal and not because it was necessary or unavoidable. It was what they wanted to do, so they did it.

I spent a lot of my life around speculative "what's better than the rule of law" but now we're in actual "what's worse than the rule of law."

Apparently, the mission of the additional troops sent to DC will be to protect the troops already there, who seem to be unable to protect themselves. If any of the additional troops are attacked, more troops will be needed to protect them, etc.
