I was so baffled by the material of this commercial, but then I realized that only a group of people who think typing up prompts and letting a computer make the whole ad for you is weeks of hard work could possibly come up with a premise so cynical and mean spirited for Christmas

The fact that Mantlo’s family has to take to crowdfunding to pay for his care while Disney pockets the profits from his creations is sickening. Comics professionals deserve equitable pay, health care, and a generous pension, which Marvel/Disney could easily do, but choose not to.
Bill Mantlo, the creator of MCU multimillion dollar icon Rocket Raccoon, has been in assisted care for over three decades and still turns to crowdfunding on the regular to, uh, live.
My hot comic take is all wfh comic shit should be paid a salary, every other week, like everyone else at the publishing company. I’m tired of hearing about our colleagues crowdfunding funerals and healthcare.
