"We only funded Scotland because our pet hamster up there asked" is an absolutely breathtaking statement for a party nominally interested in keeping the UK together to make.
A complete refusal to even speak to the elected government of Scotland yet some bullshit throw away line about how a guy she couldn't identity and who's name she only just read out for the first time sorted out Scotland getting funding from our own fucking taxes.

Party of devolution, yet hole.

I am grateful for @adamjkucharski.bsky.social. He takes such care to deconstruct a claim made by the director of National Institutes of Health on excess mortality during the pandemic. We need sober analyses more than ever right now, even amidst the madness.

2/ The instructions are just… fascinating? Well, every piece of public record I’ve uncovered on this subject so far has been fascinating, but this paragraph is exceptional.

It contradicts the Supreme Court directly, comprehensively, and unequivocally.

I'd like some of what Baroness Hallett's smoking if she thought that it was legally, financially, or politically possible for any of the devolved administrations to lockdown before the UK said so.

That was a scandal: deliberately undermining govt during public health crisis

Instead report chose to criticise Sturgeon:

"Sharing the burden of public health communications more widely among senior decision-makers & advisers would also reduce the risk of polarisation among members of the public"
