My dudes you CANNOT apply pro-piracy arguments that apply to massive corporations to tiny indie authors. It’s the difference between shoplifting from a Walmart vs. shoplifting from a small family business. It’s so EASY to read books for free without screwing authors. Quite literally a skill issue.

Now I’m not an expert but I hazard a guess that the kids this is aimed at (or their parents) won’t really care about sanctions. Yet again there is a policy that is all about hitting numbers on a spreadsheet without looking at underlying causes and how to address them
From Monday 1st December anyone who is late to school will receive a 60 minute after school detention the same day. A text will be sent out that day to inform parents/carers and students will be told on entry to the academy. If there are valid reasons for your child being late then please let school know as soon as possible. Many thanks for supporting your child's punctuality to school.

Sorry, what now? Personally I tend to think this government suggesting scrapping the right to appeal is potentially an even bigger issue with Lammy's reported proposals than the idiotic idea of getting rid of juries. This would be dangerous territory. #r4today

Quite apart from the transphobic content of the reporting on the Sophia Brooks case, is the fact that most lead with the not-guilty verdict on harassment rather than the guilty verdict for a middle aged man angrily grabbing and smashing a teenager’s phone (all but Metro).
