I slowed down this vid in the beginning, but let it get to its actual real speed - crazy!
Admittedly, I kept wondering how this #polychaete #worm would be in a marinara sauce, covered in pecorino romano🤤
Shot in #Okinawa.

Woah- this is outside my normal field of vision, but the expulsion of 770,000 migrants from Russia would have big consequences. Most are from Central Asia- and some of these countries are highly reliant on remittance flows from Russia.

RFK fired the CDC official (w/decades of experience) leading the measles outbreak response. It's been decades since we've had such a large outbreak. And just to ensure they they can spread the measles outbreak even farther, they also fired the leadership for the center focused on immunization.
Figure showing the largest measles outbreak in the US in decades. There are over 1500 cases as of October 7 2025

While the recent interim funding by the Gates Foundation for the DHS Program buys time for data collection of selected surveys and data availability, many countries don't benefit and the future of new surveys remains uncertain. Folks, climate change is not "one of two major factors driving modern migration". Migration is not much more common than in the past, and trapping of migrants by climate is just as common as displacement:

Fareed Zakaria points to 2 major factors driving modern migration:

1. globalization & 2. climate change

Plus crises like those in Syria and Ukraine led to major movements, which he says have made migration such an important issue in Western countries in recent years

The elimination of USAID is a moral atrocity and all involved made a choice to enable, and then lie about, ending the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
MAE SOT, Thailand (AP) - Mohammed Taher clutched the lifeless body of his 2-year-old son and wept. Ever since his family's food rations stopped arriving at their internment camp in Myanmar in April, the father had watched helplessly as his once-vibrant baby boy weakened, suffering from diarrhea and begging for food.
On May 21, exactly two weeks after Taher's little boy died, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sat before Congress and declared: "No one has died" because of his government's decision to gut its foreign aid program. Rubio also insisted: "No children are dying on my watch."
That, Taher says, "is a lie."

At its peak, about 1 in 7 deaths in sub-Saharan Africa caused by HIV/AIDS. It is now one in 20. PEPFAR takes a lot of credit. Since the launch of PMI in 2005, death rates from malaria in sub-Saharan Africa are down by a third. This is the time to double down, not walk away.
