Becoming clear that the shock to my system from what was really just 12 hours of my vaccinations kicking my butt as they worked (or, rather, the vomiting triggered), plus Thanksgiving, plus my maintenance sessions being hugely reduced during holiday time, all added together to make me extra fragile.

Seems I had a speculative Nuts cart set up that I didn’t return to for a year…and it lists current prices but still had the prices they were WHEN ADDED to the cart crossed out, as in, “With discount, it’s no longer $7.99; it’s $12.49!” Grim.

Never forgive GOP voters.

When I clicked on the items, the cart refreshed and deleted them with error messages, so the worst offenders were erased before I thought to screencap. (I think the biggest price hikes were sponge candy and prosecco gummy bears, but I am not confident.) All that was left after my initial clicking is this bag of marshmallow twists I had added to check price per pound versus other candies. The checkout screen says it was $12.99 when added - which I felt was unreasonably high at the time - and then was given a 5% discount, for a new price of… $15.66! (Worst part is I still want the cinnamon bears and cola bottles, cuz they had the smallest inflation percentage. Both may be favs of mine, but they would explode my disabled jaw muscles, so eating them is not allowed!)

Too worn out to redo my porch lights today, and only now did I check the weather to see this was the warmest it’ll be for a while. Oops.

If possible, I’ll do an always-on white light base, then solar strands of flowers and leaves, so I can call them “Apple Blossom lights” and no one can complain!

Only Jasper didn’t get adopted at his first showing, and that has a big asterisk because the person who wanted him on Saturday came back with family Sunday to confirm he’s their choice.
All-black fluffy cat Onyx saw me sitting down, and ran over to get pets and jump in my lap for brushing and cuddles. I didn’t get that many photos of Moonstone in her “Duchess from The Aristocats” collar - as Moonstone is a live-action double aside from eye color - so this is either a repeat of a pic shared earlier, or a slightly different angle of a pic shared earlier. But a beauty all-white cat showing off her fluffy tail is always welcome! The mother cat, the all-white shorthair Opal - now declared a Princess by her new owners - curled up in my lap in a heart shape. The two six-month-old kitten boys, all-white Blanco and gray tabby with white patches Jasper, are on each side of a toy and preparing to strike.

The sisters (and Jasper) are off to Petsmart’s adoption event!

All-white elegant gal, Moonstone, looks like Duchess from Aristocats, so we got her a rhinestone collar to lean into the Disney princess vibe.

Her sis, black fluffball cuddler Onyx, got a basic pink collar so folks know she’s a girl.
Moonstone, the medium hair all-white cat, with her fluff mostly showing in her tail, is crouching on the ground with her fluffy tail wrapped around her. She’s cosplaying as Disney Princess (I said what I said) Duchess from The Aristocats, thanks to a yellow rhinestone collar simulating Duchess’ gold and diamond necklace. Of course, that deceptive medium hair shows up on her neck, where it covers up all the rhinestones, but we tried! A side view of Moonstone the all-white elegant medium hair cat, showing off that there are indeed rhinestones on her collar because a single one is seen in a spot where her fluff hasn’t flooded over her collar. She had her fluffiness distributed in ways that make her look like Duchess from The Aristocats, so we got the collar to lean into the mirroring! Onyx, Moonstone’s all-black fluffball sister, is doing her thing where she jumps into someone’s lap for cuddles, and her fosterer scratching her head reveals her hot pink collar that’s mostly buried under her dark poofiness. If no one is sitting down to provide her a lap, fluffy all-black cat Onyx will jump on the chair and meow until someone grabs her for cuddles! This is her looking around with mild annoyance, as someone’s taking her picture instead of holding her in his lap! You can’t see her collar under her extensive fluffiness at all, but you can hear the bell on it when she’s running around!

Yesterday I snapped a photo of a flower wilting from cold and aphids… and today it’s vibrantly glowing in the afternoon sun?

Nature, you weird.
A golden hour sunlight shot of a hot pink petunia blooming among the wreckage of earlier growth that was taken down by cold snaps. I have no idea how the bloom recovered to be this. You’d have no idea this was the “after” pic if I didn’t tell you. A shot from the day before of the wilted petunia - maybe it was low on water at that moment - and you can see green dots on the back of the flower, which are aphids that I didn’t think were still around. Not that the petunia itself should be around. Dead former blooms, and remains of the clover plant that was meant to have the pot to itself, surround the petunia intruder. And alternate angle of yesterday’s wilted petunia bloom, which somehow recovered for today. From the back angle, you can see more of the hot pink of the flower holding on.

Look, I did one sketch. Had to retreat to the forgiveness of blue lead, and now I’m sleepy even tho I only got out of bed a few hours ago. I have not drawn anything else, so this has to hold ya until I remember what consciousness is.
A blue lead sketch of my character Rhenna, who’s an anthro fox in the “Momentum, the story she’s from, is a franchise in the Precocious universe.” A small bit of her thick wavy hair is loose this time, instead of all of it being clipped back to flare out around her shoulders, to copy her partner Aaron’s “tactical casual” look to put others at ease! But this is Rhenna. She’s the bad cop of that duo, and the peace sign she’s giving is flashing with her stun magic, so it’s more like she’s waving a taser around while looking maniacal. I dunno. I’m tired. The photo of the sketch was edited to correct my left-handed skew, and that could have blorped proportions beyond my general low competency. I can’t even tell. I’m tired.

My cats yesterday: You left for a long time and then were tired after? How dare!

My cats today: WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU’RE STILL EXHAUSTED AND ACHY?!?!?!

I broke down and opened the forbidden bedroom door. If they want attention, they gotta come to ME. (Pirate and Pearl didn’t come, assuming a trap.)
Lula, a small brown tabby shorthair cat with white undercarriage, walks along my bed past Big Dipper, a fluffy dark gray cat, ruining Dipper’s comfy pillow time. (As seen in the next photo.) Before Lula ruined everything, Dipper, a big gray fluffball cat, found a place where a bunched up comforter and a pillow had a gap between them, and went full “This hole was made for ME!” as he happily squished himself in. Little Stuff, a dark gray shorthair cat, whose early years were spent being allowed on my bed in the old house, was happy to waltz in and claim her spot again. When Lula took her spot after she ducked out for a nibble, she kicked his ass and reclaimed it. After Lula ruining everything, Little Stuff and Big Dipper settled down at the foot of my bed. Which sorta defeated the point of being in bed, as they did so before my legs stretched out under the covers. So I’m resting in bed cross legged!

Kitty roundup!

Thanksgiving was at mom’s this year, so I got to avoid family and play with the foster cats instead!

Cami, their Little Stuff type (a sweet and spicy big personality), stole my shoe immediately when I got there.

And I have parallel box time pics from Dipper and Little Stuff.
Blanco and Jasper, the six month old shorthair kittens, playing in their room. Blanco is all white, while Jasper is a gray tabby with white patches. The three lady cats got spayed yesterday, so they’re in the catio together. Onyx, the fluffy black cat, is hidden inside a cubby. Moonstone, a fluffy all-white cat, rests in a cat bed. Their mother, Opal, who is an all-white shorthair and smaller than her daughters, is photobombing to steal all attention! The camera has focused on Opal and left the others blurred in the background. Cami, a calico shorthair cat, decided she liked my slip-on shoes - I probably had some catnip on them - and this ended with her trying an “if I fits, I sits” where she squished a couple feet into the shoe and tried to fit all the rest of her in, in defiance of all laws of nature and geometry. Back at my house, I set out a second box top on my kitchen table when Little Stuff, a dark gray shorthair cat, looked annoyed that Big Dipper, a dark gray longhair cat (you can guess the size differential of the two), had claimed the box with padding for kitty naps. Sure enough, I quickly had parallel box babies, in an uneasy treaty. They didn’t fight, but neither fully settled into the box to rest because they didn’t trust each other.

If I wanna dive deeper into how 14yo oblivious me accidentally hit on [obvious] progressive ideas, I gotta make new sketches to justify it.

I woke up with an awful headache, so…crap.

(But resting off pain in bed is when I get bored & my mind works on storytelling projects. You see the problem!)

In hindsight, I shoulda worked harder on the Rhenna sketch. Folks, it’s an ETERNAL BUMMER my out of control muscle condition fatigues me before I can warm up, so I can only share 🥶first🥶tries🥶 like this old page.

Glad I didn’t draw Aaron. Describing his “empathy” magic within character limits = 💀!

Rhenna, an anthro fox in the Precociousverse version of Momentum, is sitting on the floor reading a book. Aaron, an anthro Russian blue cat in this version, is holding another book in one hand and waving the other hand while presumably giving a lecture.

Y'know, the original point of the thread was to try figuring out safe practice for Rhenna - maybe wrapping vines or leather around a rock and targeting the organic material that won't die any more that it already has if you botch it? - but I realized it was BORING and Momentum background was better.

But how does one construct an orange spell? How does one PRACTICE it in a way that doesn’t get you executed for violating the rights of others?

Ran out of character space, but I have the alt text for this somewhat recent blue lead Rhenna sketch of her using magic! For practice: Aaron’s special empathy magic is a perfect compliment, so the two went wild practicing their invasive powers on each other to optimize what they do, but that’s also kinda illegal! If they weren’t quest-protected, they could be executed for breaking magic ethics laws! What did she do before Aaron? She failed! Part of the reason Rhenna is so mean is she got fed up with adults and authority telling her what he magic was and how to use it, then blaming her when the truth was they gave her the affinity test too early and chased false leads AND that status magic is legitimately difficult to work with so the didn’t want to try training her there! I still don’t know the details, but I sure found cover for it that enhances my character and story!

Folks in my life ALWAYS KNOW when I’m awake, immobilized, and bored, cuz meandering word vomit!

I can be trapped in bed from muscle spasms, stuck on a treadmill, waiting on meds I took too late, or my mind’s simply straying a lot as I let cats have lap time to make up for me starting my day late!

The magic system in Momentum is kinda a joke. There’s an elaborate color system Aaron loves, but he admits it’s more for theory than application…

This creates a natural stress response that basically means you're going to continue having memory and organizational problems, as well as emotional imbalances. “Oh, hi! I didn’t hear you come in…”
Moonstone, a medium hair all-white cat with bonus longhair fluffy tail, has her back to the camera as she watches her sister, the all-black longhair fluff ball Onyx, walk around the garage outside the catio pen’s walls. The tail being closest to the camera means we get to see just how impressive it is. And she was recently brushed, too! Moonstone is next to two cat carriers, as the gals (and their mother) will be spayed tomorrow. Also why they were allowed to stretch their legs and tour the garage today. It’ll be an all-catio recovery time after tomorrow. Moonstone the foster cat was sitting inside the catio pen, facing away from the camera in a way that got to show off her gorgeous tail and lush all-white fur. But she noticed me, so she elegantly turned her head to make eye contact, letting us see her angular face. For as fancy and classy as Moonstone looks, you can also call her a mullet of a cat - shorthair at the front transitioning to longhair at the back! (Since maybe two people read alt text, I reserve the right to reuse this line in another post.)

The foster cats were broken up because five cats over three generations means a lot of sibling smacking!

Opal followed the little ones, because’s a caring mother who needed to sure they were ok. (But now she has to deal with more Blanco clinginess. Whoops!)
The six-month-old kittens, all-white Blanco and gray tabby and white Jasper, are both going after the same dangling toy. Blanco reaches out for it, while Jasper gets up on his hind legs. Little all-white shorthair kitten Blanco is cradled in the arms of his fosterer. He has a scratch on his face because he was a brat who got smacked. One paw has popped up to wave hello. The wilder six month old kitten is gray tabby with white patches Jasper, who hilariously grows when playing or eating. Here he is under a cat tower, chomping on a toy mouse that is on the end of an elastic cord, and growling away. Mother cat Opal, and all-white shorthair, gently raises her paw to play with a kitten toy that is a tower with dangling feathers a cat can know around in a large circle. Opal might as well be a pro model. She knows he poses and angles!
