If you love trans people, if you love sex workers, if you think we deserve to have families... please donate. The amount of money my friend needs to raise for court costs is shocking. Please donate.

I am fundraising for an anonymous friend, who is a trans sex worker and POC. They are at risk of losing custody of their children. Please, please donate. This is a situation that is painful and scary beyond description.

URGENT NEED! HELP KEEP FAMILY TOGETHER, DONATE NOW!

We are raising funds for a pillar of our community: a trans sex worker of color who is at risk of losing custody of their children. While their lawyers are confident they can win this discriminatory case, funds are needed by February 2026. We believe they should no longer have to face this on their own, which is why we are asking for your support.

Goal: $50,000

Send donations with a red heart emoji to ensure funds are redirected to this SWER We are raising funds for a beloved community member; a trans sex worker of color who is at risk of losing custody of their children. For their safety and privacy they must remain anonymous, but this is a pillar of our community, loved and verified by those of us running this fundraiser.

Our friend is facing a trial in February regarding the custody of their young children. The case against them is based on the fact that their primary form of income is sex work. Notably, the judge of the initial custody arrangement ruled that their job was not reason enough to restrict their parenting time years ago. Because of this precedent, their lawyer feels very confident they will win their upcoming case. To defend their rights to parent their own children, our friend needs to raise $75,000 by February 2026. This staggering amount of money is required by the court to cover the costs associated with a two day trial (lawyers fees, expert witnesses, the court reporter, depositions, creation of trial binders, the list goes on). If they cannot secure these funds by the February deadline, they will be forced to settle, resulting in severely reduced interaction with their children. We obviously do not want this to happen.

Our friend has provided for themself and their children for years, fighting their custody battle in private while continuing to be an incredible parent, friend, and educator. They can no longer face this by themselves, which is why we are asking for your support. In our current political climate, we know that our friend's situation is especially precarious. This is a crucial moment to show solidarity with a community member who needs it more than ever.

Found these mystery objects in the water below the Fair Oaks Bridge during a scuba cleanup dive.

Does anyone know what they are? Fish tags of some kind?
Circular silvery tags attached to fabric or thread backing. But what are they?

My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

Do you have access to a 3d printer? You can make whistles to help protect your neighbors pretty easily; this model on makerworld is public domain & 120db+ makerworld.com/en/models/41... for folks with Bambu printers

Here's another on printables www.printables.com/model/65-whi...

Based on my ad feed, the US is overrun by "moms" and "ladies" desperately unhappy about their silhouette or hair or skin, or unable to clean house because of ADHD. And here I am fretting about democracy and hunger and abuse and ICE and Gaza and vaccines and science.

Silly me.

Absolutely true. Many of them grew up here, went to local schools, used to have housing. Some of them have decent jobs but that's not enough for housing around here.

At least say "hello."

Former mayor of Bend, OR, died while unhoused. Situations CHANGE.

You can still be kind.

Don't forget that your homeless neighbors, the people living in the streets & out of their cars around you that you see every day, are part of your real world community.

Londoners!

There are a few tickets remaining for the Trafalgar Day dinner at the National Liberal Club, where the requirement to sit through me talking about the Battle of Trafalgar will be more than outweighed by the excellent food and sea shanty performance 🇬🇧⚓️⬇️

I like this ICE reporting acronym much better than prior ones: “CLEAR.”
C - count
L - location
E - equipment, incl clothing
A - activity
R - report time
Graphic from Oregon Worker Relief and Oregon For All:

Reporting ICE activity?
Be CLEAR!

Count: "3 officers, 1 van"
Location: "SE 2nd & Morrison, Portland"
Equipment: "Blue uniforms that say ICE, white van unmarked*
Activity: "Officers are checking IDs"
Report time: "245pm, Feb 2"

Share facts, not fear.
