Finally home after 48 days in custody.
Emmanuel, a 15-year-old with intellectual disabilities, wandered away from his mom’s fruit stand in October.

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.

“They’re failing all of us,” his mom said.

Ellis repeatedly accuses multiple CBP and ICE officials of lying (under oath) and says their "widespread misrepresentations call into question everything" they "say they are doing in their characterization of what is happening." She broadly discredits their testimony as objectively false.
U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis just handed down the written opinion version of her preliminary injunction order, regarding use of force by federal agents in Chicago.

It's the one already put on hold by the 7th Circuit.

It's 233 pages.

My “my 17 references to George Soros aren’t political” footnote is raising a lot of questions answered by my footnote.
But worry not, he has a footnote explaining why his fixation on Soros "is not political."

"The fact that Trump and Bondi botched the appointment of Halligan is a helpful additional point of attack for Comey and James, but it should never have come to this. It’s almost a lucky break, where the incompetence overwhelmed the corruption."

I really think this is it. Selling out the country for one Thanksgiving.
Lots going on but from outside it seems that at least part of the calculus was that flight disruption for middle class and up travelers matters more than life disruption for untold numbers who’ll be deprived of health care.

WE WERE WINNING! Don't tell me less than 24 hours after your caucus engineered a massive, election-insulated betrayal that it's time to re-focus on beating the Big Bad Sleepy Guy, whom YOUR COLLEAGUES just saved from being The Man Who Ruined Thanksgiving 2025.
No one’s feelings are wrong. That’s not my point. We’re in a real battle, against a corrupt and malevolent foe, with huge stakes. We must win.

Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

remember that old episode of Twilight Zone where the couple are told that if they press this button they'll get $200k but a stranger will die?

well the senate democratic caucus is mashing that button over & over just to avoid the possibility that their holiday season flights might get delayed
Senate Democrats voting to dismantle the ACA to avoid any problems with their Thanksgiving travel is tragically on brand.

It would have been better to simply cave on day one than do this. how can you ask anyone to suffer through a shutdown ever again, if you can deliver *nothing*?

New Hampshire and Maine, call your idiot senators!!!! This is a terrible deal. Get an extension or stay strong.
"More than enough" Senate Democratic Caucus members to pass shutdown deal led by Shaheen, King and Hassan, source familiar with deal says

- CR through Jan. 30
- ACA bill vote on bill of Dems' choosing in December
- Minibus has RIF reversals and "protections" against them in future
