Don't ever forget, when the NYPD had their tantrum and essentially went on strike crime dropped. It wasn't just that arrests/citations fell, reports of crime from citizens fell.

the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.

It's kind of wild that both the original Transformers cartoon and comics had atrocious badly done remasters in the Noughties and ever since Hasbro have been "well, whatcha gonna do?" about the core original media of one of their key brands. When the comics at least are easy to fix!

I’ve heard MANY say there are so many that it’s hard to find *quality* reads, which is why they’re loyal to certain authors + publishers.

Fun fact about the Salvation Army: they use a form of substance use treatment called work therapy. Oh, and by treatment, I mean they have people who have been convicted of drug charges work for their stores & warehouses in exchange for room, board, around a $1 a week, and minimal actual therapy.
