i think it is a massive fucking problem that the first best use for LLMs was to cheat in school
Ill be clear about why I am so angry and critical about it: Im seeing a good portion of my students who have imbibed the notion that they dont have to read, think or write for themselves because ChatGPT/CoPilot will do their thinking for them, and its terrifying. It should scare all of us.

It’s so funny that grapefruit, marked by its distinct bitterness, also fucks with so many meds you may be taking

What a toxic fruit relationship

I love grapefruit btw!

Olympics by Bravo
Yikes. This Olympics is so messy. Theres the Norwegian skier who admitted to cheating on his partner just after medaling, and the French biathlon woman who won gold but apparently nearly got kicked off the team for stealing her teammates credit card numbers. 😬😬😬
for those of you who don’t know, the French team is made up of an emotional abuser and a woman who actively defends her rapist boyfriend

they are dreadful and nobody should celebrate this medal

The Dems are losers at being the opposition and it shows that our “democracy” has been, at best, a Lee Kuan Yew capitalist dictatorship the entire time, play-acting at democracy via electoral proceduralism
I know this seems like it should be impossible, but both of these statements are true: Trump's judicial nominees all refuse to denounce the January 6 insurrection or say that he lost the 2020 election, and ALSO, some Senate Dems keep voting to confirm those nominees to life-tenured judgeships
Why Are Senate Democrats Still Voting to Confirm Trump’s Judicial Nominees?
Democrats on the Judiciary Committee keep decrying Trump nominees as unqualified extremists. They also keep voting to confirm them.

Eva Umlauf, an Auschwitz survivor and the committee’s President, said the AfD attacks democracy and uses Nazi-era references that are unbearable for Holocaust survivors.

The only biosphere in the known universe capable of supporting human life is being turned into a hell planet because most of Earth's governments refuse to stop trying to satisfy the insatiable greed of a plutocracy composed of people who already have more money than they could spend in 20 lifetimes.
Point of no return: a hellish ‘hothouse Earth’ getting closer, scientists say
Continued global heating could set irreversible course by triggering climate tipping points, but most people unaware

I don't get why Congress and Courts are not charging senior and non-senior administration officials with both contempt and perjury all the time under this regime
If she’s not charged with both contempt of Congress and perjury before Congress, the whole world will know that Congress is a powerless sham.

I don’t have much respect for Congress but this is way out of fucking pocket for anyone, let alone the Attorney General, an unelected political appointee who is legally subject to oversight by the elected officials she’s insulting.

The SAVE Act has passed the House, making it harder for 69 million American women to vote.

This isn’t about voter fraud or undocumented immigrants.

This is about suppressing the female vote.

They want to repeal the 19th and this is a step in that direction.

It cost us about $3K a few years back. We're happy with a modest offer plus come get it. Requires an 8 ft ceiling!!

I cannot know what I don't know. People please tell me about your food cultures, and I'll happily tell you about the food I grew up with or otherwise eat
Since we're talking fiber, I mentioned to a friend that I grew up eating beans at least four times a week. And when we got white rice as opposed to some form of rice and beans we would eat the rice with a bean sauce.

Anyway here's a recipe I have not made and cannot vouch for
Sòs pwa, Haitian Bean Sauce - Tchakayiti
Sòs pwa, Haiti's popular bean sauce is served daily on top of rice, polenta or millet. I've always been fond of the whole beans left in it. Recipe here.
