did it help? no! did I pay more into insurance than I would have if we had paid out of pocket to our various and sundry docs + pediatricians? yes!

If we'd had a few more medical bills or a larger single bill in 2019-21 we'd have been wrecked, though, so I wouldn't change what we did

consider instead "employer doesn't buy insurance and if I don't buy insurance I get penalized" in these states. I used to have a marketplace plan because we made more than below-poverty wages and my employer didn't provide insurance and my partner's job was + is part-time

When putting the bag into the trash can in the first place stopped working for two purchases in a row I about lost my mind. Now I spend the extra to get the name brand but by god if they ever unfuck the Aldi bags it's right back to paying half the price and not having to make the trek to publix

I switched to Hefty when the ALDI non-branded trash bags stopped working and I hate it; I think Glad is either coming from the same manufacturers or maybe they all got the idea to weaken the bags at once. True under no load so it's not a 'too much trash' scen.
