i think if you ride public transit enough you learn that most weird behavior is not dangerous, and conversely i think driving a car teaches you that everyone is trying to kill you at all times
You can do so much with dumbbells, plus they are cheap and don't take up much space. I am a fan!

Pure homebrew. Famously, "I must create a system, or be enslaved by another man's."
@kierongillen.bsky.social you think william blake would have been more of a warhammer or a d&d guy?

Remember when biden bragged about having the toughest border policy ever, even tougher than Trump's, look at how we do tough borders better than the Republicans, something our voters definitely wished for, etc
When trump said this, white liberals only opposed it based on the vibes and the fact that they weren't the ones doing it.

They'll gleefully threaten people with "I can't wait to see you get deported in Project 2025!" and then support biden doing the exact same shit.

I think my favorite thing about "every city reveals its inner character" era of ice protests is that people keep saying portland is weird or cute or nice or silly when one of the most common chants at the ice building is people looking up at feds on the roof and yelling "jump! jump! jump!" in unison
Portland resists with whimsical improv theater, Chicago resists by screaming at weird jagoffs that don’t belong in the neighborhood. Every city brings its own strengths to the fight
The energy we need is this suburban dad standing out in the street -- barefoot with Blackhawks pajama pants on -- screaming at the masked goons to get the fuck out of their neighborhood.
Bugs Bunny is still a profitable brand, they want to keep attention on the Space Jam / Cartoon Network versions of Bugs and not have fans distracted by a bunch of (potentially problematic) 70+ year old cartoons. Also they are worried about bootleg stuff so have to protect copyright everywhere.
Hitler failed but white supremacy and the defense industrial complex are thriving.

For reasons too complex to explain here, I wrote an Apple II program designed for Early Modern Age Catholics to determine if they're allowed to have sex with their wife, or if it'd be a sin.

Here's the video of it running.
I personally think the older stuff should be freely available for the public interest but I understand the business thinking of why things are the way they are.
The studio owns the rights to the characters and the studio paid to have the cartoons produced and distributed originally. The writers and artists were paid laborers who never owned the work they produced. The studio wants to protect their brand, especially since merch is still very profitable.
Surfing is best on the Lynx version. Until Tony Hawk came along it was the best game about doing cool stunts.
You can have ambiguity with the Oxford comma too. "I had dinner with my sister, a teacher, and our tour guide." That could refer to 1, 2 or 3 people. Sometimes the Oxford comma improves readability but it isn't a magic fix, the way the sentence is constructed is the important part.
Fiddling around without goals or expectations is an essential part of how you git gud too.

How I feel about political candidates
It feels like COVID masking opened a door for some of this. In 2020-2021 it was creepy and surreal seeing armed cops and security guards with black face masks as a part of everyday life.
Oh yeah, agreed for sure. But as a desktop/workstation environment it's a tradeoff I can live with (and rarely notice in practice) even if I don't love it philosophically. ARM Macbooks are great machines, I don't feel constrained by MacOS doing moderate amounts of dev + A/V tasks.
Walter Benjamin wrote about how capitalists love war because it lets them invest an endless amount of money in tech without improving people's lives and therefore jeopardizing the status quo. AI is the same thing, it doesn't promise anything revolutionary or liberating to people.
MacOS isn't perfect but it's a very solid workstation OS. I've literally never used the Mac App Store for anything other than software that came with the OS.
It's kind of scary how tech illiterate a lot of zoomers / gen alpha are. In the normal course of things all they are exposed to is phone OS and Chromebooks. Things I take for granted like "sharing a file via gdrive" are lost to many teens.
I love it when somebody thinks they are shutting down criticism and causes the incident to go viral.

This is a terrible decision for people's wellbeing, and advocates have been desperately fighting it. Physical mail is an important, highly personal connection to people on the outside. Nobody should have to interact with their child's crayon drawing or a funeral photo of an elder through a tablet.
Kids today will never know the ambient disappointment of staring at the same shelf of 20-30 scifi / fantasy VHS tapes week after week .
Bad Bunny isn't my thing but he's a good pick! A nice change of pace to get some Latin / Caribbean music on a big stage like that.
