I'd love to see a series of Celebrity Traitors with Emu, Orville, Basil Brush, Sweep, Bungle, Zippy, Zig and Zag, Hacker T. Dog & Gordon the Gopher.
Sadly, I think a lot of them do, and thats what they want - armed mobs rounding up foreigners and sending them to camps, army sent in to incite violence in multicultural areas and beat up protesters....sounds right up the alley of the average Reform voter....

I've just seen this photo of them, and my god does it spark joy.

Its a shame that back then, SF was considered a nerdy loser genre by so many. Even Star Trek, but *especially* non-Star Trek.
If B5 had been made today it would have been a multi-award winning franchise (although DS9 is still better IMO)
Its such a bizarre statement, that has nothing to do with these new requirements - people coming on these visas already need GCSE equivalent English.
Performative politics, by the ignorant for the ignorant.

Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world,... I feel like I can't take it. And my heart is just going to cave in.

One for the #BlueskyArtShow #Glow themes.

The warm glow of the Shinagawa Shrine matsuri in 2011. The first festival in our locale after the 3/11 quake and tsunami.

A chance for people to begin to allow themselves to relax a little and have fun again.
Photo from the summer matsuri (festival) at the local shrine, Shinagawa Temple. This is back in 2011. The first festival we'd been to since the 3/11 disaster. The community felt like it could begin to celebrate and be happy about life again. And pay homage to all those who had perished. A crowd of people dressed in traditional festival clothing are carrying a portable shrine (mikoshi) down a narrow path bordered by stalls selling food. The sun and late afternoon light is filling the scene with warmth.
Its weird isn't it, media doesn't use phrases like 'firm views' to mean "firmly believes that 'foreigners' are important both culturally and economically, and we should dismantle the systemic institutional racism permeating our culture" does it...

A great article from Rachel, who really understands the heart and soul of Dad’s work.

Happy 30th anniversary to “Angel Interceptor” by Ash. One of the b-sides is a cover of “Gimme Some Truth” which seems fitting as today would’ve been John Lennon’s 85th birthday.
It will be an AI picture. Her fist will have 7 fingers.
They felt strangely out of place at the time, but I loved the album and it lasted a lot longer than many of the 'madly play for a fornight then forget about it' records that came out at that time.
St.Swithin's Day still gives me goosebumps, a really fresh take on the original and every bit as good.

I highly recommend you click the link, even if you have no current need of @morgyface.bsky.social's undoubted woodworking skills.
I’m in the process of changing direction in my woodworking stuff and I’ve done a daft web page thing: byfen.co.uk

Every word... more people with RTD's clout and influence need to be standing up and speaking out in this way. "Censorship is in us." TV needs leaders and champions who stand up for the world we want to see and be. "TV is a light in the dark and we must not let that flame go out!"

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

As someone who had various 'Six Sigma' fake Japanese concepts foisted on me in the corporate world, I really enjoyed this.
I'd love to see more of the data and see how @scriptingjapan.bsky.social's research and thoughts take shape. Maybe one day I'll be able to experience the 'genba' of a seminar?

Ever been back to the town that you grew up in and noticed how different everything felt? A lot of the people you grew up with don’t live there anymore and some have even passed away. I wrote this song about that feeling and it’s called ‘Hometown Memories’ 🏡
