*blush* This some great company.
I often think about how 3 key video game writers shaped how I think about stories and characters. So, shout out to them:

- Tim Schafer (Grim Fandango, Monkey Island, Psychonauts)
- Ragnar Tørnquist (The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Dustborn)
- Dave Gilbert (Blackwell Series, Unavowed, Old Skies)

In a few months Wadjet Eye will be 20 years old. That seems so ridiculous I almost don’t believe it.

I never heard Old Skies being compared to The Good Place before, but I happily accept the comparison. Thank you! 🙏😊
This week we are talking gays in space (Metroid Prime 4) and gays in time (more Old Skies) and then Willa and Robin pick what games to exchange for the end of year season because the Girlies will be here before you know it!

Great to see @wadjeteyegames.bsky.social's Old Skies and @inkle.co's Expelled on this list!

Anyone who interviews people should interview Sally right away. She talks professionally and is very good at being interviewed.

One indie game per day (when I don't forget): Old Skies (www.oldskiesgame.com). This deserved recognition in last year's IGF and didn't get it, they resubmitted so I'm gonna plug them again. Probably my favorite from Wadjet Eye, a graphical adventure about time-travel tourism.

Late to hear the news. Oof. What a talent. As a teen I played Moon in The Real Inspector Hound (alongside @abegoldfarb.bsky.social as Birdboot, the only time we shared a stage together), and the sheer focus of staying in character for a full hour is still a core memory.

Have you played the video game Unavowed? If not you should really get right on that, it's an underappreciated gem. Anyway, after you've read it, read my trashy fanfic I wrote about some of the characters archiveofourown.org/works/23629894 It even got the seal of approval from the game's main writer.

BAFTA Breakthrough voice actor @sallybeaumont.bsky.social guested on our podcast last August to discuss voice acting and her role as Fia in Old Skies.

It was an excellent talk, which you can listen to here: tinyurl.com/66tew5ee or check our Linktree at Linktree.ee/somanygames for other links.

Nothing quite says Y2K fashion like a long-sleeve shirt under a shirt-sleeve shirt.
Other than the hat, this whole outfit is pretty much exactly my current style. Not sure what to make of #OldSkies Fia wearing it... when she travels back to 2001.

Cool, I was just on ClassicFM, talking about Old Skies and its brilliant music by @thomasregin.bsky.social!

It was pretty surreal and lovely- adventure games are so rarely featured in mainstream interest in games, and to get my voice on the biggest classical music station in the UK is amazing!

4 million listeners apparently!

Also sharing the programme with the music from Legend of Zelda and God of War was quite a thing!

Congrats to @caraellison.bsky.social, @kylewbanks.com and @choiby.bsky.social too for your interviews and featured music!

Listening to ClassicFM to hear which Old Skies music they will use (and an interview with me), and completely swept up in @choiby.bsky.social 's music for Empire of the Ants!

This week has been really surreal, but I feel really fortunate to be in such a talented cohort!

This is so frigging cool.
I was interviewed by @classicfm.com about video game music and the BAFTA Breakthrough! It’ll feature music from Old Skies by @thomasregin.bsky.social as part of @dantdm.bsky.social’s show- that’s tomorrow (Saturday 29th) at 9pm BST!

Old Skies somehow straddling both these categories…
To heal our divided nation I propose splitting Game of the Year awards into two categories:

- Game of the Year That’s 3D and You Use a Sword and/or Gun to Explode a Guy
- Game of the Year That’s Some Gay Bullshit Indie Meditation on Grief or Whatever

Not exactly unbiased but Gilt is looking so darn good.
I feel like every scene I draw for Gilt is a real struggle and I am never satisfied, but then I put the character sprites over my WIPs and seeing them hanging out in that world makes me happy.
