Jon Burge was fired 32 years ago and died 7 years ago & that torturing piece of garbage (who stole decades of people's lives) is still draining millions from our pockets, with the cuts falling hardest on the same people who never supported the police state.
Chicago taxpayers will pay $15.4M to a man who spent 33 years in prison after being convicted of a 1987 double murder he didn’t commit.

In all, taxpayers have spent $204.6M this year ALONE to resolve lawsuits filed by the wrongfully convicted. @wttw.bsky.social.

Saw Wet Leg over the summer and it was maybe my favorite concert of the year.
The brash British indie rockers deliver a ferocious set followed by a nonstop sing-along led by the pop wizards.
Review: Wet Leg packs a powerful punch while AJR brings the party to kick off Q101’s annual holiday blowout

Something I noticed this weekend was that at the Farmers of Color Conference I went to in Ames, Iowa, only one politician was there, Republican Mike Naig. Down the street was the Farmers Union Conference where Democratic reps were legion. Just an observation from Middle America.

Hi all. I'm seeking local (Chicago area) publications, websites, and journalists who cover arts and culture—in particular, theater and cultural activism. I'd especially like to contact Bilingual/Spanish-language pubs and writers. Respond here or reach out to me at [email protected].

NEW — With Mayor Johnson and a fraction of the Chicago City Council seemingly at an impasse, one question surrounding the budget debate is why some alders would choose implementing regressive fees on working people over taxing corporations.

Alternate Chicago budget from 26 alders leans on regressive fees. Why? • The TRiiBE

George Washington required soldiers to be inoculated during the American Revolution. Thanks Ken Burns
the antivax george washington ended his speech by falling to his knees, taking off his tricorn hat & holding it to his chest as he said "and that's what made me the prayer warrior that led this great nation" which is not historically accurate & also brought a very weird vibe to the whole public park

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service
