Here he is on the left being extremely racist about Pakistanis and on the right he's retweeting a notorious liar who calls South Asians like Mamdani a "Middle Eastern immigrant" and falsely accuses him of being sectarian.

I'm not back but I heard people were asking so I'll pop by. had a rough past couple years. been to like nine funerals in 2025. every time I'd recover from one, someone else would die unexpectedly. hug your friends and family. and I had to put my 18-year-old dog down just this Sunday. RIP, Phoebe.

man we should bring back the pamphlet
Hey historians 🗃️: Do you know of presses that publish short books (around 30K words / 90 pages plus notes)? I have been working on an article project that could easily turn into an great micro-history of that length, but I'm not sure it would make it to the usual full 60-90K words...

fellas is it a conspiracy to remember events that happened
Because a lot of leftists/progressives have pseudo conspiratorial models of reality where they think the only reason Americans live in suburbs is bc GM tore up the streetcar lines in LA etc.

If major oil companies hadn’t been suppressing information about climate change in the 70s and 80s he might have had a different view. www.scientificamerican.com/article/exxo...
Exxon Knew about Climate Change Almost 40 Years Ago
A new investigation shows the oil company understood the science before it became a public issue and spent millions to promote misinformation

one day, because of what happened here, she logged off completely

I started a Discworld quote thread because I missed chatting with her

It's nice to be reminded that fundamentally this is all still the same bubble that started in 2015.

It's just gotten too narrow a pile of shit to stay standing any longer.

As a Pali I do think the distinction matters linguistically to some extent, because it is about the extent to which a US organization is overtly interacting with a foreign government, but yeah also a lot of selectivity outrage makes it pretty clearly about something else.
With the number of antisemitic canards that have become mainstrean discourse, I've lost my patience for fellow Jews clutching their pearls and trying to elevate the salience of " Calling it a 'foreign lobby' is antisemitic. They're 'a lobby in support of a foreign government.'"
And, as we unfortunately demonstrated today, it’s incredibly easy to inadvertently promote anti-Semitic dogwhistles, even when attempting to engage in principled leftism. As such, we want to apologize specifically to Jewish folks for failing to receive earlier critiques from their community.
