Woke 2 is going to be less about people getting canceled for mildly problematic ‘women be shopping’ jokes and more people being canceled for “I love Hitler, Adolf Hitler, perpetrator of the holocaust, that’s my guy” in state senate campaigns in five-six years.
All of this crap in Chicago would be over if a single judge had the spine to rule that Qualified Immunity doesn't apply to illegally assaulting American citizens, presumed or confirmed as such.

AOC: And they are able to radicalize a generation of young boys in particular, away from healthy masculinity and into an insecure masculinity that requires the domination of others who are poorer, browner, darker, or a different gender than them.

Feels quaint, almost cliché, to say this about a Trump action, but just for the record:

This is all illegal, the President can't simply disregard the laws passed and agencies created by Congress, and both Vought & Trump would be impeached if the Constitution or the rule of law mattered to the GOP.

I don’t hate Toy Story 4 and I guess I technically liked it but it really doesn’t justify its own existence. It’s like if they made a Halo game after 3
Sorry but this community note fucking blows. "Bedouins are small in population and nomadic" is in no way proof that "Deserts are inherently unsuitable for long-term human settlement."

Surely it's a coincidence that the administration supported by Elon Musk, Peter Thiel and David Sacks is taking the exact steps you would follow if you wanted to impose apartheid in the United States www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

The fun thing is Trump shows the need for the President to become an elected monarch—just a figurehead one like the British monarchy. The American people need a way to speak back to the culture at the ballot box; but what we don’t need is culture warriors actually running the government.
Incidentally, I’ve been chafing a bit at the “No Kings” thing, because there are loads of monarchies that have more limits on executive power than the US does, but it has the great advantage that it makes Americans who want to oppose it sound, well, unamerican….
one of the reasons they're so mad at "no kings" is that they thought they were going to get a different kind of protest. they *want* the black bloc to be out there fighting with the cops. those are the images they've been trying to generate from "go." instead--

Multiple airports are now announcing they will refuse to play Kristi Noem’s government-funded video blaming “Democrats” for the government shutdown.

“We believe the Hatch Act clearly prohibits use of public assets for political purposes and messaging,” one airport said.

Democracy in the US, and even in the UK, emerged out of rebellions against exactly this. Trump is behaving not only like King George III did to the colonies, but like King Charles I did to Parliament. Our political system evolved to prevent this by centering fiscal power in the legislature.
Bessent: "No Kings means no paychecks. No paychecks and no government."

There are literally hundreds of clearly labeled levers to pull, they exist on a spectrum and the State Department's job is to keep lists of them in filing cabinets. Not only did Biden fail to impose consequences, he was actively giving them scarce assets like THAAD

one thing that has been obvious for a while is this aspect of the authoritarian internationale: they recognize that their allies abroad are not *countries* but *political movements* within foreign countries.

time we liberals woke up and recognized this--because it's the truth.
Or maybe, just maybe, what was obvious in 2024 was correct: Netanyahu fully backed Trump and would not deal with Biden because Trump would give him a free hand to escalate the starvation, bombing, and do full ethnic cleansing. Which he then did, until Netanyahu embarrassed him by bombing Qatar.

the two types of racist are food racist and sex racist. all racists fall into these two categories. hitler? sex racist. mussolini? food racist.

stephen miller? sex racist. jd vance? food racist.

despite being racist about food sometimes, donald trump is a sex racist
Food racism drives you crazy faster than most forms of racism
Absolutely insane they would do this. I legit had a second where I saw this and went "Wow, 'Tim Curry does the Time Warp' is a genius way to eulogize him."

You can’t post a B&W picture on a post that starts with ‘Tim Curry was…” on this web site people will faint of sudden melancholy before they finish reading
Tim Curry was a 20-something stage actor living in London in the seedy, sex-drenched 1970s when he auditioned for a new B-movie musical called “The Rocky Horror Show.” In a new interview, Curry discusses the cult classic, David Bowie, Studio 54, and more. http://nyer.cm/Z9RkgrI

Establishment American Jewish organizations like the ADL and AJC spent weeks denouncing Rep. Ilhan Omar for her "All about the benjamins" tweet about AIPAC.

Neither the ADL nor AJC have said anything about Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene responding to AIPAC with, "I'll never take 30 shekels."
Tweet from Marjorie Taylor Greene: “No bar codes on me.
I’ll never take 30 shekels.
I’m America only!🇺🇸
And Christ is King!”
Happier than he is to have broken Israeli society, you've gotta imagine, Bibi is *ecstatic* about having completely destroyed American Jewish society over this too.

controversial opinion: we should give every federal justice a book deal and an extremely cushy opportunity to promote their book on every TV show. we should stagger them so that each of them gets a month to themselves
Amy Coney Barrett defends heavy use of the shadow docket: "If we wrote a long opinion, it might give the impression that we have finally resolved the issue, and in none of these cases have we finally resolved the issue."
