I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Not only won't they understand these things, they will lack the basic building blocks of their own creative problem solving. I'm thinking of Apollo 13. A bunch of engineers under extreme duress had to creatively come up with fix after fix after fix based on their intricate knowledge of the capsule.
A workforce trained to normalize generative AI is a workforce that *will not be able to understand* people talking about creativity and pride in gaining skills and the value of their labor. It'll be alien to them.
