Britain did very few good things in its history - namely help defeat the Nazis and establish the Rome Statute defining war crimes & creating the ICC, so it's extra wild to see it want to participate in a new Holocaust so bad that they threaten to dismantle the Rome Statute & the ICC

Also, I think it's worth pointing out that this wouldn't have passed had the 115 democrats voted against it.

Yesterday someone on this site blocked me because I pointed out that the Democrats are also warmongers who support US imperialism around the globe.

Americans need to wake up.

This entire grift relies on convincing people that they don't know how to do the things they have always known how to do, and ironically, if it works, we will, in a very short amount of time, forget how to do all the things we have always known how to do.

Every facet of generative AI has made my professional life worse, without question, but THIS specific aspect has been driving me NUTS.

Clients, who have made me toil for weeks over indescribably small details, are now approving & producing in-house commercial artwork that looks like a fever dream.
I feel the clients now using GenAI to do stuff and going "good enough" when they used to nitpick at every last detail is due to them finding out all those nit picky changes take time and work they cant be bothered to put in.

If you ever want to know the cult of genocidal support Israel has established in the "never again, unless" Europe, consider that Eurovision would overwhelmingly rather have a genodical apartheid country committing endless war crimes on board than the Netherlands, Spain, Ireland, and Slovenia.

Israel hunted a 70 year old lady down with a gun drone and then hoovered above to make sure she bled out next to her dying son. They both join almost 1,000 Palestinians Israel has massacred or maimed in its genocide during the "ceasefire".

Example #87123 of how we are so, so fucked as a species because a few individuals insist on dragging us into the "AI" era.
Let me tell you a story. Perhaps you can guess where this is going... though it does have a bit of a twist.

I was poking around Google Scholar for publications about the relationship between chatbots and wellness. Oh how useful: a systematic literature review! Let's dig into the findings. 🧵

David is easily one of the best to do it in the last several years. He writes with the rage we all have inside us. Every word smacks you in the face, no whataboutism, no pandering.
I genuinely believe that to get to the guillotine future we need, we have to read more people like him. That simple.

As it is right now huge LLMs have been a massive drain on our society: threatening livelihoods, driving up prices, and strengthening fascists via misinformation machines. ML for cancer detection, anti-aliasing? Sounds great. Gigawatts of power and petabytes of RAM for massive LLMs? No.

Instead of making robots that reduce our society's need to have back breaking labour and exploit the weakest, these big LLMs keep trying to take away the few moments we have at communal expression: Our writing, our art. That is the opposite direction that it should be going in.

In terrible news (which I missed) Rania died earlier this month. She had really struggled during her pregnancy multiple health conditions and after giving birth it sounds like had a catastrophic outcome.

Rania was one of the first people I spoke with in Gaza and this is just awful for her family 💔
This is Rania- she is one of the very first people I think I spoke with on a video call from Gaza- she was in her tent with her babies on her lap. I remember hearing the paracopter overhead for the first time. She was recently displaced to Khan Younis- her children need food and medicine

Labor have the largest majority they’ll have in a long time and they’re using it to fire scientists, support genocide, and implement a social media ban against the advice of actual experts that, thankfully, won’t even work
Teens are already getting around the teen social media ban by scanning their parents' faces or uploading their ID, after the government was warned that a third of parents were planning to help their kids dodge the minimum age.
