Thanks for the link.

Here we can read Witkoff actually advising Putin to talk with Trump BEFORE Ze's last visit to the White House, which we now know did in fact happen, and did in fact wreck the discussions.

Incredible act of treason to the democratic world.

This headline in Politico says it all: this is all about Trump's personal gratification and wish to be the star of a big show on the international stage, not about getting a fair or durable agreement.

A great article in @foreignaffairs.com about the "toothless" Trump sanctions on Russian oil, that people have been getting wrong. China is still buying lots of oil, and without secondary sanctions, this will protect Moscow

Last month, the Trump administration imposed fresh sanctions on Russia’s two largest oil companies, Rosneft and Lukoil, signaling a renewed desire to drive Moscow to the negotiating table in its war a...

Tom Friedman’s piece in the NYT today again brings up the specter of Neville Chamberlain in ‘39. I disagree.

A better analogy is saying to Hitler: “keep the Sudetenland, don’t worry about the Holocaust, & we’ll give you a few years to rearm to attack into Belgium again. Let’s sign that!”

Putting any cap, no matter how high, on Ukraine’s armed forces is wrong.

Russia is the aggressor, and if anyone needs a cap, it’s them. Since they won’t be capped, Ukraine shouldn’t be capped either.

Ukraine’s armed forces are its only true security guarantee

The sound you are hearing from the Trump administration is political panic. Because of all the corruption they cannot afford to lose the 2026 midterms, but they know in a free vote they are looking at defeat.
The implication of this is that they will try to thwart a free vote.

The debt has jumped from $36.4T to $39T, an increase of over 7 percent, since Trump took office just 10 months ago.
Had to fact-check myself: the US debt crossed $38T almost exactly a month ago, and now it is already being reported at $39T. That’s roughly a trillion dollars added in one month. So where exactly is all that tariff money taken from US consumers going?

I want to focus on this. If the US and EE don't follow up the UK's sanctioning of the Beihai LNG terminal we will have one of the biggest failures of sanctions enforcement to date. And we need the US to enforce them specifically.

Two more LNG tankers from the Arctic LNG-2 project which is sanctioned unloaded their cargo at the Chinese Beihai LNG terminal. The UK sanctioned the Beihai terminal on October 15th 2025 for this.
